Ah My Goddess in anime form is pretty great, mainly because Belldandy is voiced by Kikuko Inoue, who's like the platonic ideal of MILF voices in anime. You may eventually feel bad for Bell though, since she's happy being the MC's waifu, but she'd really like to get laid eventually.

Lots of drama, not bad though, and the piano playing scenes are worth watching just for the animation. They accurately animate the piano and it's fantastic.

I have a BD rip of it, but it's a couple years old, so don't know if it's top of the line, but it looks pretty good for an early aughts anime.

This AMV by any chance? There are some slight spoilers in there, but I don't know if you'd catch them without having seen the show.
Yeah that's the one, I went on a spree of watching some old amvs I remember watching just to see if any hold up.

It still does. For a long time, it was considered one of the, if not the, best AMV ever put together. That was back in 2003 and no one did editing like that. Some of those old school AMVs are still top tier. One of the AMVHells, 3 or 4, did an Azumanga Daioh based parody of it. It was a big damn deal.

1) Your Name. (65 votes)
Snow White With The Red Hair is seemingly the biggest surprise, as in the past it did not seem to be driving hype on par with Makoto Shinkai theatrical releases. It’s impressive that oldies like Maison Ikkoku and Ah My Goddessare still hanging in there beside more modern favorites like Maid Sama!after all these years.

Was there a title which didn’t rise as high as you expected in the rankings? Do you feel any of the top picks didn’t really deserve the votes? Let us know in the comments!

According to the manga, she’s fully aware of why she’s not getting laid, but didn’t tell the MC why he never felt like wanting to.

wtf weebs. Also silent voice is pretty overrated
Surprised there wasn't any harem anime though, since I usually see people shill "choose a best girl" anime a lot.

As much as I love Spice and Wolf there wasn't really much romance in it, there was a bit of romantic tension at times but that wasn't really explored, at least in the anime. I know there's a bunch of light novels that carry on the story, but the title states "Top 20 Romance Anime".

A Silent Voice was great and all, but if it you think too much about it the main character seems selfish for trying to force himself into the deaf girl's life again just so he can apologise and make himself feel better.

Nana shouldn't even be on the list because the mangaka fell off the face of the earth before finishing it, also Nana was a fucking retard who constantly made the worst choice possible.

The only other animes I recognise on that list are Toradora, Clannad, and Your Name, and I'd rate them lowest-highest in that order.

No 'Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai'? Quantum Physics and romance.

It feels like recently there's been more anime movies coming to my country cause I swear all we used to get was popular shounen, pokemon and makoto shinkai movies but recently I actually got the opportunity to watch Ride your wave and Promare on the big screen. It's pretty awesome. I'm not expecting anything more niche than that, though. Fate/ is probably too entrenched in its own lore for general audiences and I doubt most moviegoers here would care about BL anime like Umibe no etranger or Given.

I already hate this list simply because Your Lie in April is rated higher than CLANNAD. YLiA treated its side characters terribly and the main character turned out to have no personality once he got over his mommy issues, but it only gets a pass because of beautiful art and music making people sad. The romance is not even anything remotely romantic because it fucking involves middleschoolers. My Love Story!! handled the concept of first love better that I'm glad people still talk about it and that it wasn't a passing fad.

Also how is Otaku USA surprised Snow White with the Red Hair made it so high on the list (and it and Fruits Basket and everything else should be higher than Your Name for reals)? It's one of the better romances to come out in the past decade, like even though it takes its name from Snow White, the romance realistically builds, and it also had one of the sexiest kisses I've seen in anime in ages. Seriously. Rawr.

Anyway CLANNAD is still my all-time favorite romance that I hold it on quite a pedestal so yeah I'm biased, but I'm always looking for good romances that can once again make my shriveled heart bleed as much as it did the first time watching CLANNAD.

Looked at that up. Huh, I just assumed the author danced around it because it would have made a chunk of his fans explode in Otaku rage over their waifu not longer being pure.
I mean, that’s probably a big reason why. At least we got a reasonable explanation in-universe though.

Christ, imagine having however-many-years worth of divine-retrained lust finally be released.

Well, I didn't expect this.

I was certain that a reboot of an old show that's only popular in Japan would never make it here... but we got the new Kitaro, after all.

I doubt it's gonna catch on here, but heck, maybe this will eventually lead to the original series getting a release here...

Just finished reading Deadman Wonderland, and it's refreshing to see a series that actually ends in a satisfying way, and gives you satisfying, logical answers to its early-installment mysteries. It seems pretty obvious that the writer went in with a pretty clear idea of the story, which is something I've grown to appreciate a lot, given the number of series (Japanese or otherwise) that seriously shit the bed with the ending. I also really liked the characters and the clear theme of dealing with past trauma that's built up throughout the story. It's too bad it'll likely never get a proper anime adaptation.

"Act-Age" author Tatsuya Matsuki was re-arrested on August 26 for additional similar charges of the sexual harassment against female middle school student.

To clarify, it seems that Tatsuya Matsuki was "re-arrested" because more past crimes came to public. It seems he wasn't released & then committed more crimes because why not? Just extra skeletons in the closet.

So, Toonami just aired an entire ad in total support for BLM with Steve Blum as Tom deriding the viewers for being racist.
Wait, WHAT? I knew Blum's a massive, TDS driven, politisperg. But damn, Toonami actually let this happen is weird.

Yeah, I'll try to find the clip if I can but I think it might be the first time it aired.
