So thoughts about the season:
Maoujou de Oyasumi - Princess gets captured by demon lord and spends her time trying to maximize her sleeping comfort. It has a great animation style, the jokes land well and the princess is likable in not always achieving what she wants (or even dying in the process). I can't wait for more episodes.

Jujutsu Kaisn - Yu Yu Hakusho but with <curses> and slightly darker tone. It's pretty fun and already had couple of characters with cool wacky powers. Hopefully the main character also gets a unique power rather than being the genre standard beatstick. My biggest gripe is that in the 3rd episode they spoil that a character is going to die in a few episodes, and considering the potential deaths are the MC, girl and slightly experienced older person, my money in on the latter.

Ochikobore Fruit Tart - Idol group comprised of talent industry failures. I have a soft spot for idol anime when it involved the characters starting small and getting big, and the show seems to scratch that itch. Overall it's pretty heartwarming and funny.

Inuyasha 2.0 - Despite the lackluster first episode, it's surprisingly good. I really like the main characters and it's nice the show reverts to low power levels. Inuyasha's kid is probably the best character in being a knowledgable brat with a heart of gold. Also it seems like Rin isn't the mother (thanks god), since the twins are born directly after the show ends and Rin is shown to be living with Kagome and still looking like a regular 10 year old.

Assault Lily - Thicc school girl fighting monsters. It's shit and a total waste of Shaft's abilities and style. Some of the fight scenes are cool but between those it's just uninspired yuri to get people to subscribe to whatever gacha this thing entails.

What are your two cents on the other sequels this time around? I'm really hoping Higurashi turns out good. So far my highlight for this whole endeavour has to be Golden Kamuy.
EDIT: As a true and honest SHAFT sperg, it's also very sad to see Assault Lily around this season. From the bottom of my heart I wished they did Kakushigoto and finally broke their curse of mediocrity that has been a part of the studio's productions since 2018.

I haven't really watched anything else. Golden Kamui I'll probably read one day and Higurashi seems to be like a trash fire.

What I would consider one of the older isekai series Tsukimichi is getting an anime adaption finally. Cautiously optimistic about it as I quite enjoyed both the manga and the WN, though they might decide to speed through the beginning to get to some of the more interesting later arcs. It has quite a slow start and takes a bit to get going. My favorite parts are unlikely to get adapted unless it proves popular and gets multiple seasons.

Glad they're going with the manga designs over the boring WN/LN ones.

If I was to share a bit of my own thoughts on the new season with what I'm currently watching and will probably stick with:
-Fruit Tart - Simple but pretty cute, surprisingly good animation. Probably will keep up with this.
-Adachi to Shimamura - Seems to be in a similar vein to Bloom into you which I really enjoyed, as long as it doesn't get consumed too much in drama I should stick with it. From reading manga readers take about there probably isn't going to be much relationship progression sadly.
- Maou-jou - Great little comedy that is a pretty great adaption of the manga, will keep watching as I loved the manga.
-Majo no Tabitabi - Similar to something like Kino's Journey and is pretty enjoyable. Episode 3 triggered some people with how MC decided to act but I didn't really mind it, very much enforcing the idea of her being a Chaotic Neutral Traveler.
-Yuukoku no Moriarty - Looks like it'll be a good adaption even while it's not a 1:1 adaption, big sucker for series like this.
-Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai - A lot more enjoyable than expected and I'm liking the slow introduction of characters to try and flesh them out as much as possible. Sucker for idol shows that focus on the whole passion aspect and overcoming problems as a group.

I don't think I'll pick up much more as I still want to leave some room to watch through some of my backlog. Just finished up Shakunetsu no Takkyuu Musume which turned out to be surprisingly good. Had a really interesting ost that really gave the matches some excitement along with some pretty great animation.

So apparently the newest Inuyasha 2 episode confirmed that Sessomaru and Rin hooked up and had twins, ala the main characters.

I expect Twitter and tumblr to be very pissed.

Episode 3 of this season's Golden Kamuy was so goddamned dense it was great. I'm still not sure which parts of Tsurumi's ruse cruise were real or not.
I'd like to assume that he told the truth in the end, that Tsukishima's beloved was indeed alive in Tokyo and that he lied to the villagers about his father killing her in order to get him out of jail, but when you consider he had only just gotten half his skull blown off by the end of the episode, he could very well have been an unreliable narrator at that point. It was a really good episode, and it's something I like about Kamuy, when you get new perspectives on characters you've seen for a while and think you know.

Overall, I'm really liking the new season. Geno's doing a better job with the art this time around; you can still notice the budget at times, but they've toned down on the CGI usage for the animals, and when it is used (like the teams of sled dogs in some shots), it fits in to the rest of the show much better. It's always been carried by a fascinating story, memorable characters, and great voice acting, and all of those are as strong as ever. Looking forward to more, for sure.

Also agreed on Yashahime, it's been a lot of fun to return to the world of Inuyasha years later and enjoy a new story. All three leads are interesting in their own way (Moroha definitely steals the show), and I'm interested to see where the story goes. I'm gonna die of laughter if another character makes a "boy, isn't this nostalgic?" comment again.

r/Higurashi seems to be indicating shit is actually going down. Will have to wait to download later.
Yeah, fucking finally. But it really just feels like more scenarios added to the original rather than something entirely new. It still really doesn't feel like a true sequel to me.

14 page per 3 month is an acceptable rate.

On average, it's still faster than the rate that Barasui has been putting out Ichigo Mashimaro chapters the past couple of years. He drips out 4 or 5 pages of the same chapter every couple of months. I strongly suspect that Barasui also draws more mainstream manga using a different pseudonym and Ichigo Mashimaro is just a side project he gets back to occasionally now.

They did this one too many times that I'm just tired of seeing it. Maybe for this time around, it would've worked best as a surprise cut since this is Rika we're talking about.

Oh... holy shit, they weren't kidding. Fuck, that was actually terrifying. That went on way too uncomfortably long. Even with the censoring (because of course, though least it wasn't DEEN-levels), that was getting to me. I thought I've become desensitized to this, but nah, they were up-front and center with that and that was just... not pleasant at all. Also Jesus, can you guys cut down on overdrawing at the blood bank? It almost hit comical levels there, not even Satoko bled out that much on the cross.

Looks like we're hitting a pattern of "dama"s, deceits judging by the next arc. Something's definitely going down. I feel like Onidamashi-hen played similar to a game-only arc, actually, but it definitely went its own route. This was totally our question arc, 'cause now we gotta figure out exactly what happened that made things play out differently, and also so quickly, too. So like Ryukishi07, are you suggesting that had Keiichi not gone over to the clinic for a "cold" and showed up to school anyway that Rena would've actually attacked Keiichi as he was dreading all along? Because that would've meant Mion never went home to get the ohagi made which would've turned it into a game? Rena was going on about how she's trying to save her dad, so I thought maybe Rina was in town, although I think in most arcs that may actually be the case that her dad's being played. I thought she would've given Keiichi an offer to help her "take care of business", but she was suffering from the syndrome all along. But what would've triggered it? Keiichi was well on his way to developing more severe symptoms, but was Rena aware of that, or did she have bigger plans in the background that made its way to the forefront?

If Keiichi's getting flashbacks to Onikakushi-hen, was Rena getting flashbacks to Tsumihoroboshi-hen and it drove her mad?

As for Rika and Satoko being killed in their home with the same knife... that's truly suspect.

Alright, Ryukishi07, Passione. What'cha got in store for us?

I was pleasantly surprised by episode 4 but

It DID hit comical levels for me. I almost laughed when
they showed Keiichi tearing up and that he was still alive. The profile shot of Rena stabbing him also looked kinda silly but overall I was impressed by the animation for that scene.
I didn't find it scary per say but it was well done and I'll give credit where it's due. I'm actually looking forward to what's in store now.
