Lmao. I take it that that incarnation of Lupin is one I should skip then?

It has a few strong points and I'd say it's worth a watch just for a different take on Lupin. That said I absolutely did not enjoy it by the end and had to force myself to finish it. How Mari Okada continues to get work in the anime industry is a mystery I'll never figure out.

Now the movies that take place in this setting on the other hand are top notch (Goemon's Bloodspray, Jigen's Gravestone and Fujiko Mine's Lie). Definitely give those a watch, not only are they generally fun Lupin movies they look visually amazing.

No do not skip. Fujiko uses her sex as a weapon and she's always in control ala Bayonetta. The twist might be kinda cliche but still. Plus the whole gang gets screentime

Fags on Ice got a film. It looks like a child version of the protagonist is watching his lover who is obviously adult. I thought that one was like 23 and the other 27. Am I missing something here because this Call Me By Your Name shit is problematic yet in a similar vein embraced by insane straight girls.

She has hits as well as misses, and even a lot of the misses have high points or interesting bits. AnoHana's probably my favorite of hers.

Not even the official subs for the first season and Kai turned "Nii-Nii" into that, they kept it as "Nii-Nii".

Same goes for "Nee-Nee", although I don't recall Shion ever calling herself that to Satoko. Seriously, the fuck are with the subs?

Also I think this is worth something to point out:

If this series tries to humanize Teppei by implying his abusive nature is because he's suffering from Hinamizawa Syndrome (since he fled the village after his wife's murder because he was scared of the curse coming after him) and not because he's an actual horrible, abusive person, that's going to be a permanent red mark on the show. Teppei has always been shown to be irredeemable and there's no way to reverse that, not even a series reset will be able to save him from that. Try it, Gou, fucking dare you.

And to wrap it up with an animation goof nitpick (seriously wish I could show off these moments), not even DEEN's version of the water wheel has the water clipping through the wood. Come on, Passione, it's 2020. You seriously can't be animating just as bad as DEEN.

Yeah, translating "グーグー" to be "rumbly in tumbly" is weird, but given she's speaking like a child, it's probably the closest it can get without feeling too out of place for her. I didn't even notice tbh. "Brudder" was just too fucking stupid to ignore, however.

They still could've gone with something like "Your tummy would've been really noisy!" Sure it doesn't sound as kid-like but IMO it doesn't have to, so long as you're conveying the same meaning. The Winnie the Pooh phrasing took me out of the scene because it was such a bizarrely specific choice.

Onomatopoeias ideophones are significantly less baby-like in Japanese than they're in English. They could've just put in a normal colloquialism.

There needs to be anime made for Ubell Blatt and I really hate it when some manga author does not finish their work like The Legend of Maian.

I don't think their is a good way to adapt it to an anime or most dark fantasies for that matter. On the not finishing manga part I can never be to harsh considering how stressful drawing manga can be especially with deadlines and japans work environment.

I just started reading the Golden Kamuy manga and It been the only thing recently that has genuinely got a laugh out of me with its sight gags. The Edogai chapter was just me sitting their like wtf for 12 pages. I plan on watching the anime after I get to the most recent chapter on the manga.

Golden Kamuy has something for everyone. Lunacy, history, action, drama, comedy.
It is also simultaneously one of the manliest and gayest mangas I've read.
