I'm still waiting for that shit hitting the fan moment like Pandora Hearts had where the series sucked me in, currently Vanitas just seems like it's building to that something. The series is enjoyable enough, but it hasn't hooked me yet like Pandora Hearts did. Noe is super cute though and I'm dreading the wringer the author is bound to put him through if Oz's journey says anything, let alone the suffering train inbound on probably most of the cast.

Really, I just hope that the anime might make them look into doing a full adaption of Pandora Hearts because that series really deserves it even if it might not be able to pull off the same heights.
I really need to finish Pandora Hearts. I had the opposite problem with that one as it feels like an entirely different beast.

Would you recommend Pandora Hearts anime? I always wondered about it.

Actually thinking about the Pandora Hearts manga, as much as I'd love a new anime, I don't know if it'd work out that well. One of the big things in the manga is misdirection and making use of the format to do so that I feel would be much harder as an anime. Big example, without spoiling much, is how the manga presents memories without proper context where the audience assumes certain characters are saying things based on slowly evolving trickle fed information. You could still do it with the assumed characters voicing the lines and then switching once more information is given, but if definitely won't care the same "Wait, what the fuck?" the manga had (especially on re-reads).

I just feel like whatever they did wouldn't be able to live up to the manga because it made such good use of the format, unless they had some real skilled people working on it and author involvement to properly reflect their masterful troll nature.

Honestly no, went anime original and has pretty poor animation. Didn't get that far into the series anyway, which wasn't helped by the swing into anime original content around episode 23, so if doesn't cover much of the really good parts. It's how I got into the series back when it was running, but I'd never really recommend it compared to the complete manga. It's not like the original FMA where the beginning chunk is legitimately better than Brotherhood up till like Ling comes in and even the anime original later half wasn't bad and tried something interesting.

Best I'd recommend is popping on the shows ost while reading the manga because it's probably the best thing to come out of the anime and really fits the tone of the series. I know that's what I did in my last read through and it really added to it, Yuki Kaijura did an amazing job with a personal favorite being Every time you kissed me which makes use of the anime's adaption of Lacie's Melody from in the manga. For maximum PAIN listen to it while reading the last couple chapters of the manga.

As far as 2020 was concerned, you know how the old saying goes, “Never judge a book by its cover”? Well, this anime would fit this description. I think if anything, after the first three episodes, many people would tune out of this just based on the plot and pilot anymore.

Yet, for some reason, this series was surprisingly good due to it reminding me of a mix between Shimoneta and To Love-Ru. The harem genre might not be dying out yet, but I think this one isn’t as bad as many people would try to say online. If anything, I’d just be worried if this get a second season, since I think the OVA might just be enough for the time.

I’m very well aware that the title of the video in question won’t help my case much :story:
Ehh, I watched it because it was a slow season or something, it was an alright ecchi anime but there was nothing there that would redeem it to anyone looking for something more then cute girls in lewd situations. I think Shimoneta was actually funny and had some social commentary where as HxEros was pretty much just "space alien monster girls don't want you to fuck, defeat them with lewdness before they turn everyone into herbivore men."

How true is this? I was actually going to give abortion’s a second chance since I only read the manga in the beginning, but I never had the chance to watch it in full
I'm gonna get puzzle pieced to hell probably, but Boruto isn't THAT bad to watch but it requires more skipping than shippuden. Like it's watchable, it exists but it's not a top priority on my watch list. Naruto wise alone, I'm balancing Naruto, Shippuden, Rock Lee and his Ninja Pals, Boruto, and whatever OVA/Movie catches my eye outside of my already long list of shit i'm watching, but Boruto is one of those "I'll eat dinner and watch this I guess" type of shows.

I'll admit, Boruto is a ton of filler, but their filler would have to be worse than shippuden, (Granted i'm jumping all around in shippuden due to the games and whatever I catch on tv) but when you get to a solid arc, it's not that bad but VERY underwhelming. It's just safe.

For example, the chunin exam arc in Boruto just feels baby proofed?
Og Naruto you had kids getting sent into the woods with the chance of death, in a place LITTERLY CALLED THE FOREST OF DEATH. An exam proctored by an intelligence ninja, and at the end everyone beats the shit out of each other in a tier bracket, only to make another bracket to beat the shit out of eachother.

Boruto? Uhhh yea kids go run in the woods we got some traps...We got capture the flag...We don't give exams anymore, just a quiz question and we'll throw you in a pit if you can survive real quick, THEN you get to beat the shit out of each other in front of all the kage.

Same set up essentially, but a much weaker payout. I get Boruto is in an era of peace, which in itself is fine, but it just feels so BORING.
If I got anything from watching Boruto, it's that the MC himself while annoying, is still better than Chocho (Choji's daughter). If you do want to get into Boruto or even try it, episodes 53-65 are pretty decent. It covers Sasuke coming back to the village, the chunin exam, and the we gotta get Naruto back from the space aliens thing.

Also just a small shout out to the Sukea epsisode of Boruto. Nothing special, but I just like it.

Seriously if you want something good, just watch Rock Lee and his Ninja Pals. That's how I got into Naruto in the first place and it's just overall pretty funny, esp if your a fan of team guy or comedy since it's just gag skits and pretty funny.
Also, Chibi Sasuke anime when? I'm nearly done with the manga and I haven't laughed so hard in a while.

The recently released Saga of Tanya the Evil OVA, Operation Desert Pasta, was good. Basically a slightly shorter episode of the regular series.

One of my biggest fears going into S2 is that they'll cheap out on the animation and start heavily using shitty looking CGI like other shows are doing now. Not enough action in the OVA to see if they're heading that direction, though there was one quick shot of them flying that looked like crap.

Is it fair to say I'm disappointed there was no ethnic cleansing? Was really looking forward to that part *sigh*

It was used sparingly in S1 with the exception of the wide shots with the mages flying, so I'm hoping it stays at that level at most.

It baffles me that CGI still looks so shit in most anime despite being the "cheaper alternative". If it's a cheaper option because it takes less time to implement then you'd think they'd have more work hours to make it look at least passable and not like a PS1 game or Yandere Simulator.

I just watched the Fate/Stay Night: Heavens Feel 3 movie.

And holyshit the animation is nuts. I get it is Ufotable.

But I thought the animation quality would dip some since they were working on Demon Slayer around the same time.

Nope.

I think Boruto would have worked better if they’d gone the Ninja Pals route, honestly.

I think they have a SD (super deformed AKA chibi) manga series tbh? Not translated officially, but that's pretty funny, In Vol 2. of Chibi Sasuke's sharingan legend, they have a few chapters in there to promote Boruto: the movie and they were pretty good. I also saw a comic about Sarada asking around and being shocked Sasuke and Orochimaru knew each other which was pretty funny. Hell i'd be fine if they made a anime series bout the Boruto chibi's, that would be pretty good and a break from whatever stuff is coming out now.

I do agree Boruto would've been better as a ninja pal's route tbh, since the last time I heard bout the Boruto manga it's going down the shitter. I think it was something bout there's a new editor and he did samurai 8 and that got cancelled, now everyone is worried Boruto is heading down the route since nobody is really tardwrangling Kishimoto and all I can assume from a brief glance it's like "so we're heading to the android DBZ route of Boruto, Sasuke and Naruto can't beat them, talk no jutsu isn't working etc." I think the other kid...Kowaki??? Couldn't beat them either and the villains went from "oh that makes since" from when Boruto first came out to "we're just evil and OP stfu". But some argue it probably won't cause Naruto's the cash cow that keeps giving. (Even if I think ninja storm alone, when I got to where Kaguya showed up the series shit itself cause they put Madara in a corner essentially)

TLDR: Boruto might have a risk of cancelation if shit doesn't get cleared up soon, or maybe it'll just keep going cause it makes fat stacks of cash.

Ngl, very surprised we haven't gotten some kinda original Boruto movie yet, hell i'd watch it I enjoy those things. I recently saw Naruto and the lost tower and I really enjoyed it but i'd be curious to see what else anyone would recommend before I go watch Bonds.

Kishimoto isn’t doing the Boruto manga, I thought. It’s some other guy. Or did Kishi take over after his other manga failed?

Kishimoto did come back.
It was pretty recently actually. I think it was either March or April he came back to write, everyone rejoiced, and then the following chapter Boruto got possessed by Kaguya i'm p sure, Sasuke got stabbed in the rinnegan eye, and Kurama died.
So yea, he's been busy. But that was a few months ago and now shit's really hit the fan with whatever alien mumbo jumbo op shit is going on now.

I mean anime movies have a much higher budget and are more obligated to have great animation generally.
