Booty Royale: Never Go Down Without A Fight!

Crazy, but funny story: a couple of years back, I remember reading this on MangaDex thinking it was the funniest thing in the world - a woman who was an expert in karate decided to change careers and become a singer, but gets tricked by her handlers and gets sent to the world of the adult entertainment industry.

To get out of it, she’s needs to go through a martial arts tournament fighting against a bunch of lust worthy men that want to bed her.

The funny part was that I just found out that Seven Seas Entertainment is licensing the series to put out two omnibus volumes, with the first one coming out in late July.

This was just released as the cover art for the second omnibus volume:

For the first omnibus to have 400 pages, I might actually pick this up. The premise was really amusing to me.

It was used sparingly in S1 with the exception of the wide shots with the mages flying, so I'm hoping it stays at that level at most.

It baffles me that CGI still looks so shit in most anime despite being the "cheaper alternative". If it's a cheaper option because it takes less time to implement then you'd think they'd have more work hours to make it look at least passable and not like a PS1 game or Yandere Simulator.

Its also rendered in Unreal Engine 4 btw. That's why it looks like that. Because it is.

When manga dex went down recently for over a month and half my library was unreadable it definitely made me ponder new forms of swashbuckling manga

Mangadex formats the the digital manga as images from what I gather. I wonder if there's a script or something that can parse the website and create a local copy of the manga you want. Maybe compile the images into a tidy pdf?

most the extensions format the manga as images and arranges them in slides

the tachiyomi community is very dedicated so I have no doubt someone within the user base has streamlined the manga selection process to help with honestly not great UI and frequent takedowns of sources

So about Battle Royale....I wonder if Suzanne Collins really stole the premise from it.

Anyway shit is like.... weirdly upsetting? Like I know the characters are all supposed to be unlikable to an extent...and I think the creator intended it to be a commentary on society or school system or something? I made the mistake of reading it when i was 10 lol. Traumatic. Asuka from Eva as the trainer girl in the film was the best tho.

the idea of kids killing each other for survival wasn't original when battle royale was written, stories like lord of the flies had existed for over 40 years before battle royale.

not to mention the concept of people killing each other for entertainment/freedom has been practiced throughout history

I do not care for the anime original content they decided to add to the Shadow House adaption. While the show is fine and enjoyable if you take it as its own work, I'd highly recommend reading the manga. They twisted a lot of stuff around, skipped about, and its just not as good imo.

For example, Kate wasn't there when John fought Shaun, there was much more planning and sleuthing around in order to communicate with each other safely. It's honestly unfortunate since other than messing with the actual plot, everything's great.

Why did Burst Angel never air on Adult Swim? If ever there was a show that seemed tailor made for them back then, it was that, but Adult Swim tended to shy away from fan service heavy stuff, but it's not like there was any actual nudity, was it just a case of what was there fan service wise was just too much for the network?

Even as an anime-only some parts definitely felt off to me, like how easily Ricky and Lou's brainwashing was undone. It would be weird if they get a season 2 and it creates problems.
