Even as an anime-only some parts definitely felt off to me, like how easily Ricky and Lou's brainwashing was undone. It would be weird if they get a season 2 and it creates problems.
It definitely would, most likely either things would have to be retconned or there won't be a season 2, they've made some the the characters move their relationship way too fast and easily and completely erased an important character. I have no idea what they were thinking.
IT BEGINS!!!!
Wonder if part 2 is going to come around any time soon.

Right when the anime starts or ends would be a good time for it. It's great advertising.

Are there any actually any good new anime shows out this season?
Tsukimichi is pretty good for an isekai, it has the interesting twist that the main character was born and raised in order to be transported.
Sonny Boy looks like it could be either pretty good or an interesting shitshow.
The Idaten trailer released at the Mappa event looked pretty interesting. Apparentally it's written by the author of Interspecies Reviewer and drawn by the Dragon Maid artist.
There's also Vanitas which people are excited about.

I feel some concern over the Chainsaw Man trailer since I heard somewhere that some of the stuff for the trailer could be made exclusively for it. I don't like dooming but I'll wait till the anime is out for how it's animation quality is.

If we can then get a Fire Punch anime, I think 2022 could be a great year for anime

Overall a fantastic anime season. I think Nagatoro might be one of the best adaption I've seen and it's just heartwarming all around and it even adds to the culture festival. Hope Jahy keeps up the trend.
Thunderbolt Fantasy had some great moments, but I wish they'd given an actual decent final fight like in S2, at least the punishment for the villain was well deserved.

I really hope Nagatoro gets a second season, because the next stretch of the manga is what sold me on being a regular reader, and I think it'd do really well.

That reminded me, wasn't the final image of Nagatoro dosing off the original contender in the student festival? I kinda liked it better because it shows senpai thinking of Nagatoro as a regular cute girl, while the anime's "day to day" paintings feel a bit shallower.

Nah, it was still the "day in the life of Nagatoro" series in the comic as well. The fact that senpai was able to paint an entire portrait series of her is the source of many jokes about them being lovers.

Sempai managing to tease back/honestly compliment Nagatoro and get her genuinely flustered and just as embarrassed as when she does it to him are some of the best moments. Gives the whole series a good give and take.

I’m also rather impressed that they really haven’t had a “love rival” character. Sure, that’s what you think the President or her sister are going to be at first appearance, but they turn out to be full support’s of the relationship even if Nagatoro sees them a different sort of rival. It’s a bit refreshing, honestly.

That's what made me give it a chance over other romcom animes. Basically the entire supporting cast approve of the relationship and are trying to push both of them into it (Nagatoro's friends especially), so there isn't as much of the hackneyed drama these kinds of shows often have.
That and that there's actual progression. I was recommended Teasing Master Takagi-san a few years ago and pretty quickly burned out on that because it always fell into the same loop.

Been checking out random shit on my list of series to watch. I'm almost done with Wotakoi and it's been alright. I prefer romantic comedies like Ore Monogatari or Nagatoro over this one just because I'm not really into characters who are fujos, but it's just a small gripe. Also I'm almost done with Vivy and it's been some good shit so far

I can't really say much until stuff has started airing and everything gets at least 3 episodes. Based on the source material quality, besides what's already been recommended, I'd say Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki and Uramichi Oniisan might be worth a check out.

Genjitsu is a summoning isekai that I find myself enjoying well enough because it focuses more on the main guy trying to fix up and run a country. Will probably fall into the "words words words" kind of show, but I found it didn't bug me when reading the manga since I found some of it interesting.

Uramichi: I found to be an enjoyable manga if you don't mind self-deprecating humor that focuses on jokes about being an adult. The manga manages to pull off the jokes well with the comedic timing helped by the facial expressions, have no idea if the anime will be able to capture it. Here's a sample of the kind of jokes it has:

I honestly can't see the anime getting to any of the real good shit unless it cuts a bunch of stuff, series that would definitely need multiple seasons. Will probably still watch it just to see the beginning parts animated.

Kazuho Miyauchi from Non Non Biyori is essentially Misato Katsuragi from Evangelion if Misato never opened her eyes.

Being the only remaining teacher for the five school-aged kids left in a mostly vacated farming community is kind of dystopian in its own charming little way.
