Having crawled through his facebook and pics from the Tokyo Attack biz, it looks like it's almost all uglier-than-average midwesterns coupled with slutty women and lispy fags so i would not be surprised if there are regularly sexual assaults at their shit- drugs, neckbeards, niche fandoms, and SJW is a nasty social mix. Male feminists should be shot on site, it's the best way to protect women from predators.

It's embarrassing to admit this, but I was a follower of Anime News Network for a full decade before the KickVic debacle was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

I had already given up on the podcast after Hope transitioned and Zac, Justin, Mike etc, were already on thin ice with me, I already hated their politics, but there was a time when I considered myself a fan of them, ANN and ANNcast helped keep my interest in anime and manga alive as it waxed and waned from 2009 to 2012, I remember the "best of" 80s, 90s and 2000s retrospective podcast episodes provided good entertainment on a long road trip I took once in 2013.

Plus they turned me on to some good animes, like Patlabor 2, I also thoroughly enjoyed the Evangelion podcast episodes with Carl Horn as well as others with interesting guests they had, when it mostly the guests doing the talking.

But man, it's been disillusioning to learn just how big assholes they turned out to be to say the least.

That is what's incredible about the Trump era is how much it's brought to light, how many people have revealed their inner selves.

Someone else still reading might have a different perspective, but I gave up when "Jacob" decided to do a weekly "episode recap/review" of Utena, a series that is over TWENTY years old but was treating it like it was airing brand new to help newer fans appreciate the LGBTQ indoctrination show. There was a lot of great anime in the 90s, but if all you want to talk about is that or video games, then you hardly qualify as a solid anime "news" site.

For what it's worth Zac was always my least favorite of the group, I didn't listen to the podcast for him but for Justin Sevakis and Mike Toole, who both gradually moved away from it, leading the podcast to become the "Zac and "Jacob" show" which didn't interest me.

Sevakis and Toole have really been what's disappointing, both seemed like fairly down to Earth guys, especially Toole, I'm honestly a little surprised how much of a, well, Tool, he's turned out to be.

Sevakis though made a really snide comment about fanservice anime and people that watch it on one episode of the podcast once that really rubbed me the wrong way, he said it with such contempt, like he truly hated it rather than it just not being his cup of tea.

Which first of all, he's gay, so what difference does it make to him? And second what kind of guy works for an anime website and can't at least begrudgingly respect all anime, even if not all of it is his personal cup of tea? To outsiders all anime is disreputable anyway, the fact that he's going to look down on some of it says bad things about him.

I did at least enjoy him sharing his experiences working for Central Park Media and John O'Donnell back in the day though.
