I really don't understand the process she outlines. So let me lay this out as she herself did:
1. The interviewing team translates the questions into Japanese (before sending them to Japan)
2. The Japanese staff answers the Japanese questions In Japanese and returns answers that way
3. The interviewing team then translates the Japanese answers into English
4. The English answers are then returned to Japan for approval before printing.

OK, why the hell would anyone do that? I'm not saying this exact process does not happen, but if the Japanese staff understands English, then why the hell are they submitting the questions In Japanese and/or re translating the responses into English? If the staff understands enough English to raise a stink about the translation, then why not just submit questions In English in the first place. Yeah, I get that having the responses in Japanese makes sense. But I'm guessing that responses are simply rubber-stamped 99% of the time unless someone has a reason to worry, and I expect ANN know that.
