I would like to bring attention that diversity of in Anime was here since 2017. The Vic Scandal is the tip of the Iceberg. Animegate was always here.Their are foreign artists who worked for Japanese Animation Studios. They infiltrated Anime Industry. Now the want to bring diversity to anime. Animegate will bring minority representation like Cannon Busters. All of this is somehow connected.

Honestly as long as they dont try to make it social justice Steven Universe typemoralizing stuff, I dont care. Diversity has always been in animation in one way or another, it's almost a defining trait of animation, you can do anything. Usually it's used as stereotypes but diversity outside of that can make a world feel more real and alive,and make a scene more interesting.

As far as diversity of the creators, that doesntmatter so long as they just stick to doing the work and doing it well. The only reason this is an article is because Japan is notorious for being kind of xenophobic and while they will tolerate other people, they wont treat them the same as a Japanese person. A black person there is probably incredibly exotic and screams "foreigner" so they are probably treated that way extra.

Animation is kind of a shit job and you have to do it for the love of art and theproject, and the art of animating in general, so outside of CalArts type stuff where it's almost a factory to get you a job and make shows, i doubt they would tank any really good project by tainting it with outside shit.
