Macron backstabbed the man who basically made his career as soon as he smelt an opportunity, breaking off from the Socialist Party to found his own vaguely centrist movement full of shameless power-grabbers and rats who were bidding their time waiting for an opportunity to jump from their own sinking ships. During his presidency, he's had to contend with massive riots, general strikes, and the Covid-19. And as soons as the pandemic recedes the people who've been patiently waiting in quarantine will be back in the streets to demand his resignation.
