This is really embarrassing to watch I am embarrassed for him and the movement he represents. If some political faction like this took hold of real power the first thing they would do is start purging their own radical elements to build something functionally cohesive that wasn't based around smashing Starbucks windows and issuing lame death threats. You got to give Lenin credit for building a functioning state out of the anarchy in Russia. Trotsky was in charge of bumping off these anarchist elements that pushed for their own communes and autonomous zones probably for this same reason. You had glimmers of these societies pop up in Russia and Spain but they were not built to withstand the bigger modern states with more guns and more weight to throw around sadly. I guess you have Kurdistan today where actual anti-fascist anarchists have gone to fight ISIS.
To be fair if you go to the Portland Reddit there's plenty of posts showing undamaged pictures of the city and saying this isn't a real problem and conservative media is making mountains out of molehills to further a political agenda. Take that as you will.

If you've ever been to Portland than you have to squint to ignore the rampant homelessness/boarded up businesses. A local news station KOIn is doing a multi parter on 'Is Portland Over?' and its pretty funny

Portland's fairly large, and the protests/destruction has largely been (mostly voluntarily) contained to certain areas so it is true that there is a lot of Portland that doesn't look like a warzone.
But that warzone area is also in (what used to be) the better economic areas in Downtown (i.e. the most significant parts of Portland).
