Just got a free credit on audible and access to their plus library or whatever its called. I noticed a majority of the audio books promoted on there are pretty pozzed and i'm in search of an interesting listen that is also BASED. Just looking for something that doesn't suck that will EXPAND MY MIND, any suggestions frends?

You can try "The Life of Charlemagne" by Thomas Hodgkin; Charlemagne the Great was a "Based" chad, being christian while not being a panzy as de-facto emperor/king of Europe.

And Librevox is a free audio-library you can listen to, since most of the books are in the public domain.

Hitler by Ian Kershaw, The Rise & Fall of the Third Reich by William Shirer, Napoleon or Winston Churchill by Andrew Roberts, anything written by Winston Churchill, Narconomics by Tom Wainright (essentially how to run a drug cartel), Peoples' Tragedy by Orlando Figes (history of the Russian Revolutions and following Civil War), The Patriarch by David Nasaw (the life of Joseph P. Kennedy, the father of the Kennedy clan and all-round bastard), Kissinger by Walter Isaacson (Henry Kissinger's biography, duh), Hamilton by Ron Chernow (ignore the musical, the dude himself was pretty fucking amazing), American Ulysses by Ronald White (turns out Grant was a really cool guy), The Sleepwalkers by Christopher Clark (how the fuck WW1 happened), The Vanquished by Robert Gerwarth (about all of the fucking mini-wars and general chaos that happened right after WW1 was supposed to have ended), and that's non-fiction.

For fiction, I'd recommed Empire of the Sun by J. G. Ballard (MC is a kid who watched the Japanese take over China during WW2 - it's fucking brutal), Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle (Fallout, by written in the 1970s - the badguys are commies, islamists, and fucking eco-warriors), the Takishi Kovacs Trilogy by Richard Morgan (usually called Altered Carbon), and maybe Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad (because who doesn't love the idea of running around 19th Centruy Africa, and murdering/looting the shit out of everything in sight?). Oh, and any all things by Mark Twain.

They have a version of Dune that was pretty decent. It wasn't full on voice actor casting but half of it was (some sections had different actors like a play while other were just one guy reading all the parts).

Audibles was a decent deal when paired with kindle unlimited to allow unlimited checking out of books to use their audiopart. But the pozzing was real bad that i canceled.

The Dune audiobook is too insonsistent for me. They don'[t have actors doing all of the parts that they're supposed to be playing. Also, I know it's a matter of personal preference, but I really didn't care for the musical cues they used.

The pozzing doesn't bother me that much. I buy credits, so I am paying a fraction for what I want, and I just ignore the boring pozzing shit. There's plenty of interesting material on it, if you're willing to look. The member sales can be very good at times. I've been doing a lot of walking since everything got shut down due to the Wu Flu, and listening to audiobooks is a great motivation to do it more than once a day.

Yeah it's a bit annoying that it wasn't the entire book but i got it for free, rather then 50 dollary-doos so I'm not complaining.

It pains me to admit how good the audibles+unlimited deal was. Was making good progress on PKD books before they rotated off the unlimited. Eye in the Sky, the narrator does a great job with his part, made me really like the protag.

I canceled out of principles. At least i dont get pushed Michelle's book and that stupid white fragility bullshit anymore.

Chirp gets some pretty good deals. Also Libby if your local library supports it.

Edit: if you enjoy dumb pulpy nuclear apocalypse adventures. Try to find Deathlands. Full voice acting cast, music and little short separate story at the end to learn proper trucker safety

If they have it, try Chung Kuo by David Wingrove.

It's a scifi novel series about a future where the Chinese genocided most of the planet (except for some European and American collaborators). It's a rich world with many intertwining and fascinating storylines, that mostly deals with the themes of individuality & freedom vs. stability & control.
The rich and varied narrative deals with a wide array of society, from triads and warfare to history and suppression of it, to the intrigues of ruling, to art and its sociological effects.

What I like about it is that you can also pick it up anywhere in the middle and just immediately get engrossed by it. Which is why it works well as an audiobook.

It has none of the modern faggotry in it. The scope is much more traditional without seemingly setting out to do so.

I ve been binging through trashy military sci fi by BV larson. Its amazing how he keeps writing the same book over and over again.

There is also the threshold series by peter cline.

and Neal Asher has some good sci fi shit.

Gee dude, I guess you are not a fan of poetry.

The Imitation Of Christ narrated by Bob Souer is a fantastic if you're looking for something deep but not 48 hours long.

In a similar vein, The Legacy Journey: A Radical View of Biblical Wealth and Generosity by Dave Ramsey is a good self help book that isn't gay and has lots of good stuff inside.

Devil's Bargain: Steve Bannon, Donald Trump, and the Nationalist Uprising is meant to be a hit piece but the story is still interesting and the narrator has a great voice.

Chris Barrie (Rimmer, from Red Dwarf) voices all main characters in "Infinity welcomes careful drivers" in a full length novelization of Red Dwarf. It's not woke at all.

A curry loving slobby Uk man has adventures in the far future with his cat, a bipolar android, a uptight hologram and a senile super computer.

Console wars by Blake J Harris is a good historical perspective on the Sega vs Nintendo 16 bit era. I think Seth Rogen wants to make it into a movie.

The Madness of Crowds by Douglas Murray is pretty funny. The best thing about him is he doesn't argue with the retards he encounters, he just honestly recounts what they do.

Murray was on Joe Rogan a while back, and that might give you a taste. He also does the reading himelf, which makes the Audio book superior to the actual book.

Seamus Heaney’s reading of his own translation of “Beowulf” is great. Too bad it’s abridged.

I was really disappointed by “The Madness of Crowds” tbh. Douglas Murray has a great voice, though.
