I'm working on a video discussing the CIA and their involvement in proxy wars and wanted to see what interesting info I missed that you guys might know of.

I've grabbed alot of info about the Mujahideen and the CIA's involvement in training them as anti-Soviet forces in Afghanistan.

Some of the more interesting shit was the Polish 'Solidarity' movement that the CIA funded to swing the Polish election from the communist party. Seth Jones has a great book about it and did a talk explaining it.

There's a bunch of other stuff like the Central America Crisis I'm looking into as well but I just wanted to give some examples of the type of shit I'm looking for. Thanks guys

I've been to Chile while traveling through the world. Most REGULAR people haven't forgotten how the CIA killed Salvador Allende (democratically elected president btw). And they are still not happy about it. Online you will find a minority of Chiliearn righties with money who speak english. They don't represent the regulars.

I heard they were often working out of local Coca Cola plants since it was easier to get Coke into an area than other parts of the USA

I would like to say that I know little to nothing about the CIA, NRO, NSA or any other spook alphabet agency and I defiantly know very little about the private contractors employed by the The United States Intelligence Community.

I can personally recommend several books on the subject.

Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and bin Laden from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001, by Steve Coll.
Directorate S: The C.I.A. and America's Secret Wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan, by Steve Coll.
First In: An Insider’s Account of How the CIA Spearheaded the War on Terror in Afghanistan, by Gary C. Schroen.
The Way of the Knife: The CIA, a Secret Army, and a War at the Ends of the Earth, by Mark Mazzetti.

The CIA has their own book suggestion list if want more recommendations https://www.cia.gov/library/intelligence-literature/index.html#war
