Everyone using imperial measurements? Hm, yeah.

It's been a long while since I've been able to muster around 6 miles (10 km). Now I can only manage around 5 km on a good day.

I'm not a runner, rather I'm a walker.

I'm just going to leave a little space so people can quote that more easily when making Boom Headshot replies.

Yeah, I walk a lot. Actually, my mom wants to start walking and we went together last week while her windshield was getting replaced. She's amazed I don't get tired doing it when she wanted to quit. I pointed out I walked 4 KM in a blizzard once in college.

To be fair, I was out of toilet paper.

I usually run around 2km (~1,25miles) after I wake up and 4km (~2,5miles) before I go to sleep. I could probably manage more, but I get more than enough exercise in my line of work.

I also really, really like walking especially during fall. It's nice and cool and the nature is at it's most beautiful state.

My girlfriend and I have been making it a habit to start running the track at the local high school on week nights. We both work jobs where we have to sit in one spot all day, so doing this is a great way to keep our blood from turning into jelly.

I just ran 5 miles for the first time in about 2 months. wow

And Friday is the first time I did my running routine since this. I like to think I'm in pretty good shape, but my legs still feel a bit sore. :o

It was only 3 though, not 5.

Gonna necro this shit.

Getting back into running after a long period of absence. Literal couch to 5k. Granted, my time sucks, but I can confidently do a 5k every day without feeling sore. It's only upwards from here, especially when I get new shoes.

I started jogging casually about 6 months ago. I realized I don't hate it and it can be even be somewhat enjoyable with some showtunes. I've never been very fast or had the best stamina because laziness combined with semi-legitimate physical reasons, but I've been able to improve my time on my route (which is ~4.33 miles) by 20 minutes so far. I also had my first official race this weekend (3.5 miles) and for the first time in my life, I averaged a mile that was under 10 minutes. Pretty hype.

Necro time!

I've recently decided that I need to force myself to like running, so I downloaded Zombies, Run! and Charity Miles to my phone. Turns out helping real and imaginary people gets me off my ass.

I don't have any real goals to accomplish in running beyond not sucking at it and getting a hot body.

I love running, but I have terrible plantar fasciitis in both my feet from over running in the past. Every few months, the pain and inflammation goes down and my stir-crazy ass starts burning miles again and eventually my plantar fasciitis cripples me again. It's a painful cycle, but it beats not running.

I'm aiming to do a timed 5k every month now. But my ankles are going to shatter.

I signed up for a 5k in May and also want to do at least one 5k a month now. So there's another motivation I have. Even if it's just a color run.

My ankles aren't my problem so far--it's my knees that get me. Sometimes they hurt so much I have to make the run a walk.

I usually run two marathons a year, one in spring and one late autumn. I run on average 6-8 miles a day/6 days a week when I'm not marathon training.

Which is great because I'm also into boxing a few times a week and I have by far the best cardio of anyone I train with lol

My ankles are now fine, but after today's 5k, I feel like my entire left leg is going to give away.

Hills suck.

If you do lots of hill training make sure you are hydrated and your bladder is not empty or you will end up pissing blood because the walls of your bladder will rub against each other's creating microcuts

Other than sucky hills, how was it?
Personal best time for a 5k. 26:22 chip time with an 8:29 pace. Placed 547th overall, 409th in males, and 54th in my age bracket. Beat purple leggings girl, so I'm happy, even if it wasn't exactly fast. But I shaved 45 seconds/mile from my last 5k without much training, so there's that...

The hills are by virtue of my preferred running area. At least 2 major hills, so 4 inclines to deal with. Hydration isn't an issue for me anymore, thankfully.

Yeah no hydration is a rookie mistake but you seem to know what you are doing. Congrats on shaving time off your 5k 45 seconds is good with little training
