Does Pepsi Blue count? Because I loved that soda and miss it dearly. (:_(

Coffee soda is delicious. I don't know how obscure it is, though.

Coca-Cola Blak? That was pretty good, too.

I don't think this is all that obscure but I love this stuff:

AFAIK Scotland is the only country in the world where Coke isn't the top selling soft drink. Irn Bru is our top seller. There was a time it was quite rare in England but I think you can get it all over the UK now. Britvic are trying to buy out Barrs I hope they don't sell it off because the recipe might get changed I like that our top selling soft drink is still owned by a small family business.

I've had it once, I thought it was okay. I should give it another go though. Apparently the Scottish version has some coloring that's illegal in the US so the version they sell in the US has a different recipe. I've had the real Scottish version, I got it at a British market, I thought it was alright.

Likewise though, apparently brominated vegetable oil is illegal in the EU and UK, but they use it all the time here in the US. It's not comforting when you find out that bromine is stuff they use as a flame retardant in carpets and yet they put that shit in sodas like Mountain Dew (which is my cheap caffeine fix of choice).

Yeah, IRN BRU all the way for us Scots; much like Coca Cola, it has a secret non patented recipe. Barr produce other bog standard soft drinks like lemonade, cola, cherryade etc, and I actually think that their orangeade is the best carbonated orange drink around, it puts Fanta in its place imo (sorry Chris)

Here's another one from Bonnie Scotland.

Not technically a soda, it came as a tub of powder that you spooned (not Barb-style spooned) into water and it foamed up like anything! Sadly it was discontinued in 1998, but since then some enterprising folks have produced their own versions like Kremola fizz, and Krakatoa foam.

Seriously, a few spoonfuls of this and you'd be flying round the room like a hummingbird!

By any chance has anyone here tried Peru's Inca Kola?

I've heard really good things about it. It's suppose to taste like bubblegum.

I know some people who went to Belize last summer and they liked pineapple Fanta. We don't get that flavor up here. I've seen pineapple Jarritos, though.

We used to have teriffic local brands of soda like "Birchola" which was a root beer made from birches, Crystal Club "Creme" Soda which came in a blue can, and this cherry-flavored cola called "Cherokee Red" I used to love as a kid. The company shut down about five or six years ago and I miss all of them, although I think someone bought the formula to Cherokee Red and started making it again, so I have to go pick some up and relive my childhood.

I've heard of it, and I heard it's a big thing down there, but I've never had the chance to drink some.

Not obscure, but damn do I miss Diet Coke w/Lemon.

My friend Brian sells "obscure" sodas on his website, sodafinder.com.

Just got a Sodastream the other day and having loads of fun making my own soda flavors using Torani syrup. With some thawed-out frozen lemonade concentrate and slightly-carbonated water, I can even make my own Rondo like it was 1979 again. :)

I have, I actually tried it at World of Coca Cola. If you're ever in Atlanta, check it out, you can sample every product Coca Cola produces around the world. They've got stuff like this soda named Beverly which is really bizarre, all sorts of crazy Fantas like Fanta Birch Beer and Fanta Apple, and stuff like Sprite Mint from India. Anyways, I've had Inca Kola, good stuff though a bit too sweet for my tastes.

Ask Marvin about Inca Kola, he loves that shit.

Actually, I've seen Pineapple Fanta here in the States (assuming you're in the good 'ol US of A). I've seen it in the South, namely Florida, and they sell it in the NYC area. There's also Fanta Strawberry which is my favorite but the only way to get it around here is with those Coke Freestyle machines (which are the shiznit).

They sell both pineapple and strawberry around here. Actually, as I recall, the four main flavors of Fanta sold in the states are orange, grape, pineapple, and strawberry (I'd always see those fucking commercials with the girls in them, so the flavors were sort of nailed into my memory). I think we actually have Fanta grapefruit (toronja) around here, but I'm pretty sure that's only because we practically live in Mexico. Besides, you can only get them in liter bottles at grocery stores.

I'll have to check the stores around here if it's that common. When they were in Belize they drank it out of 12 oz. glass bottles because they couldn't drink the water.

I can't stand Fanta (Nazi juice) all the Fantas are bitter and tasteless, Tango is a much nicer fizzy orange. Irn Bru is the only Barrs drink I like, a local Barrs competitor called Krysal Klear used to sell a lovely fizzy orange called Sunbow and a fizzy pineapple called Sunset and Krystal Klear's Red Kola was awesome. Every flavour that they made was always nicer than the Barrs equivalent. Barrs do a really nice American cream soda though.

I really miss Kremola Foam, I can't believe the excuse that it was too expensive to manufacture was used to discontinue it, I mean how much does some fruit flavoured sherbet and bicarb soda cost to acquire. I've tried Krakatoa Foam and another couple of the imitation powders but sadly no one seems to be able to get the recipe quite right.

Drinks like Irn Bru and Kremola Foam are the reason every one of my molars is filled and two of them are crowned... I wish I could afford implants but I've heard they are about 3 grand a tooth.

Fanta Strawberry
I just had that the other day, I agree it is good. I know there are tons of different Fanta that's regional on both national and international levels, but I forget the exact number.

Since we've had mentions of Fanta and discontinued varieties of Coke, I want to take a moment to say that I miss Surge. :'(
