Fanta Strawberry
I just had that the other day, I agree it is good. I know there are tons of different Fanta that's regional on both national and international levels, but I forget the exact number.

Since we've had mentions of Fanta and discontinued varieties of Coke, I want to take a moment to say that I miss Surge. :'(

Oh my God I'd forgotten Surge and now I miss it too. Damn you.

I once had this grapefruit flavored pop from Jamaica that was made with actual grapefruit juice and it was very light and refreshing. My dad's a pilot and he always brought me home cool stuff from his travels. He actually went to Japan one time and bought me Japanese Pokemon cards. This was before 2nd gen was released so I was the talk of the playground because I had all of these new pokemon that were not yet announced in the US yet and didnt' even have their english names

Is Mr. Pibb obscure? I only know one buffet near where I live that has it. :'(

It's Pibb Xtra now, and it depends on whether Coke or Pepsi bottles Dr Pepper on whether you area will have it. Since Pepsi does Dr Pepper where I live, we get Pibb Xtra.

They re-branded it as Vault and sold it for a while a few years ago... now I can only find it for sale down in Chicago, so I stock up whenever I go down there.

That's what that is? I used to drink it quite a bit back in '06, but now I tend to avoid it. They still sell it by the liter, though. I remember we also got a 12 pack some time in 2011, I think.

I don't really drink that much soda, (being a coffee, tea and decent booze monster), but I like Purdeys, pine nut Sparletta, Frugo, dandelion and burdock, ice cream soda and passion fruit Rubicon.

Our local Sam's Club has Cherry Limeade Fanta in it's deli fountains. $1.56 for a Nathan's hot dog + large size soda. Damn it feels fine to be a club member. :)

I miss Crystal Pepsi *sigh* It was a BFD for a shining moment--what happened?

And Kazouza! AUGH YEAH It's Lebanon's gift to the world (besides Tony Shahloub). Watermelon, lemon, and lime grenadine were my favorites.

I actually read an article on fine sodas and was hoping to see this thread again. I'm glad someone necro'd the thread.

There's this Mennonite restaurant, bakery and gift shop (plus some other businesses - it's a pretty big complex) about 20 minutes from my house. I remember they had some high quality sodas there, and figured I'd check it out Monday.

Recently I tried Jarritos pineapple and liked it. My mom thought it tasted slightly like vanilla. I bought some Mexican Coke and Sprite from the grocery store today and had Mexican Coke for the second time. There's a subtle difference, but I can see why people prefer Mexican Coke, because it has real sugar.

You may want to see if there is a soda fountain near you to have a retro experience. There's a couple about an hour away from my house.

If I remember I'll check back Monday and say what I found at the store.

Soda fountains should become the new hipster artisanal trend.

Cheerwine, Big Red, Big Peach, Big Blue, Green River, RC (sorry Hunter), Dad's Root Beer, Leninade, Boylan's and Stewart's, and Jones Soda are all stocked at my neighborhood grocery store. Jones and Cheerwine are my favorites of those.

As for my actual favorites? Irn Bru (only obscure in the US and sold in import stores mostly), Vernors, Ale-8-One (caffeinated, very strong ginger ale), Tab, and Ironbeer (Cuban-American Dr Pepper-like drink bottled in Miami)

I keep hearing good things about Jones's, so I'll have to see if I can find it.

I think my uncle once gave my brother and me Irn Bru once when I was like 9, but if I remember, it didn't agree with me.

I tried Big Red once from a vending machine at college. Didn't like it.

Pretty much anything with real sugar. The Pop Shoppe makes a great root beer and grape soda. Stewart's has more variety though. I like their grape soda, orange soda and cream sodas best of all.

Avoid Brio at all costs. It make be a dollar a litre, but it's not worth it.
