Think about it, there were many signs Christine was LGBT in the past before she came out. Wearing women's lingerie, hatred of penises, drawing pictures of her in threesomes, many videos of her denying being gay, the tomgirl saga, etc. I really think her anger towards LGBT individuals were based on her own frustrations. Christine was raised to believe that being LGBT is a sin, and she was probably afraid that she would be thrown out by homophobic Bob if she came out as her true self while he was still living. Being trans is much more acceptable in our society in 2015 than it was 10 years ago.
We all know Christine is for desperate for attention, no doubt she wants attention specifically for being a transwoman. She knows she will get both positive and negative attention now for it, and I think that's part of why she waited to transition. I think she knew if she came out in say, 2008, it would only cause more trolling towards her, along with living with Bob. However, I just don't think she's doing this merely to find a galpal. If she were in a different environment, maybe she would've came out as trans sooner, skipped the whole tomgirl thing. This is only my opinion though.
And yes, I'm referring to CWC as Christine, and using female pronouns. If someone requests to be called a certain name and their preferred pronouns, I believe that their requests should be respected. Even CWC.
