I'm doing about twice the damage with swords.
No no, I figured that out about five minutes into my first play.first time playing? yes basically investing into ranged weapons at all on your main char is a gigantic noob trap, don't do it (you'll figure out why later in the game i dont want to spoil it)
And don't forget the restored content patch!Wait until the second game for blaster builds
Just to build up further from what we've both said, K2 has all the best gameplay builds to really develop from thanks to how the systems were reworked and how the companions could all become Jedi. You know what lets just make this into a KOTOR/TOR/SW Games general thread
Anyways from my experience blasters seem a lot more effective in K2 than in K1 (same with unarmed combat which is suicide in 1 but an actually viable build in 2
Turning my entire party into jedi was some of the most fun I've ever had in both KOTOR games, you can basically play the game on auto-pilot at this point, since your teammates will absolute decimate most enemies without much effort on your part.Just to build up further from what we've both said, K2 has all the best gameplay builds to really develop from thanks to how the systems were reworked and how the companions could all become Jedi.
This meant that you would have a further development of a variety of combat builds in your party rather than giving everyone a vibroblade or a lightsaber like in the 1st game. So the handmaiden could turn into a literal whirlwind of fists, Mira could go around downing enemies with a pistol and grenades and you'd still sling force powers with them.
I got to the boss fight in KOTOR 1 and realised that I hadn't used any of my grenades throughout the game. It was a bit of a joke sticking him in place with the cryo grenades, then throwing everything I had at him.EDIT: Also, the last boss can be cheesed. If you're immune to either critical hits or stunning and can survive the couple rounds it takes for him to blow through his tiny force point pool he's easy. He hits hard but it's manageable.
Is it pretty much accepted that everyone should play as Jedi Jesus? I've never seen any other appearance used.Turning my entire party into jedi was some of the most fun I've ever had in both KOTOR games, you can basically play the game on auto-pilot at this point, since your teammates will absolute decimate most enemies without much effort on your part.
Blaster combat just felt so underwhelming in comparison, I even gave Mandalore a vibroblade, I hated using ranged weapons so much.
Yeah, KOTOR uses 3rd Edition which is why it is a total mess.I had a passing conversation, where I was told that ranged weapons were underpowered in the D&D ruleset that KOTOR was based off of. I'm no nerd so I can't back that up, but that's what I was told.
