Are we really jealous of Phil's success? - Gout, Bankruptcy and Vitriol. Sounds good?

I would say that being handed a silver spoon by retards ala Pewdiepie is enviable by itself.

That being said, there is nothing to be jealous of from Phil other than his six figure income. I am going to go out on a limb and say anybody posting in here can make that kind of income work and set not just themselves, but their kids up for life.

But Phil is a fucking moron. He can take the sweetest of situations where you could feasibly never had to work again and completely fuck it up.

Phil is not enviable because to be in his shoes, you have to be the dumbest mouthbreather on the planet.

To a certain type of person he really is living the dream, so to speak. Minus all of the online ridicule his lifestyle is enviable to every 14 year old LPer who records minecraft with bandicam, and plus his long-lasting career of infamy "proves" to them that videos about vidya are a sustainable moneymaker. They don't want self-actualization, they want to get paid for doing what they already do.

The only thing in Phil's life that someone could possibly be jealous of at a glance, is the fact that at one point Phil was making a six figure salary for playing video games in his taint-sweat-soaked kahndo. He made off like a bandit for a couple years, so good for him, but those times have long since come to an end. Let's list what that's gotten him in the long run:

  1. A house he can't afford on the other side of the country from any of his few remaining friends and family; self-explanatory
  2. A mountain of debt; No amount of selling off Collector's Edition game statues will ever get him out of the hole he's dug himself into.
  3. Zero health coverage, zero savings, zero retirement plan; The second any unexpected large expense comes around, (such as, say, owing back taxes,) it will completely disarm and cripple him financially.
  4. An inexplicable 8-9 year gap in his employment record and zero marketable skills; as if his attitude and personality weren't already damning enough to disqualify Phil from ever holding even a modest part time job, the only explanation he can give to a prospective employer is that he spent it as a "digital content creator." This explanation will lead any prospective employer to inquire as to what said content was, to which Phil will stutter and stammer his way through explaining that he played video games on YouTube. The best he can hope for is that that is where the explanation will end. If an employer ever googles him, they will be confronted with TIHYDP videos, clips of Phil's masturbation incident, and all manner of other dirt that makes him the immortal lolcow he is.
  5. An army of detractors who delight in watching him suffer as a hobby; even if Phil somehow manages to turn his life around and solve all of these crippling problems in his life, it will never change the fact that he is a miserable, pathetic, depressing joke to thousands of people around the world. For as long as Phil continues to have even a sliver of internet presence, he will always, always be followed, provoked and laughed at by his army of detractors, of which I am one, with no apologies.
  6. Complacency; This is absolutely the worst thing Phil suffers from. His early success has only enabled his sense of entitlement and absolute refusal to do anything more than the bare minimum to make a living, or anything to set foot even one inch outside of his comfort zone. All of the above problems, (any of which would be enough to lead a reasonable person to turn their life around or end it outright,) have grown out of the rich, fertile soil of Phil's complacency.
Was any of this worth it for him? What does he have to show for the last 10 years of his life? What does he have to look forward to in the future? The only thing Phil could possibly do to turn his life around, is to disappear. He'll likely receive some kind of inheritance when his parents pass away, and even if that's enough to solve his financial problems, it still solves only one of the above mentioned crises he faces.

Maybe if he's extremely cunning and brilliant, he could pull off an incredibly unlikely insurance scam. Maybe he could burn down all of his properties, take the money and run. With this money, maybe he could fake his death, check himself into some kind of institution or flee the country entirely, and live out the remainder of his life in obscurity. Maybe when he dies, his organs could be donated to save the life someone with a future.

And remember, all of this came from his lazy desire to "do what he loves" and play video games for a living.

Am I jealous of Phil Burnell? Well if on the grounds of being able to eke out a living playing video games and receive money for it then yes. That's a comparatively easier job than what I do from 8-5 nowadays. But then, I'd also have to admit I'm jealous of far more successful LPers like Markiplier, JackSepticEye, PewDiePie, and TearofGrace because to avoid mentioning that would be hypocritical. They all make a living doing something I'd give my left nut to be able to do and even live comfortably.

I'll repeat ad nauseum that I'm immensely jealous of Phil's career path because it's something I've wanted to do as well but lacked either the funds or the equipment necessary to do it. But Phil as a person? He's a shit person and I feel no pity for him constantly approaching LowTierGod levels of pathetic.

How could you not be jealous of this Italian man? He plays the hottest games so good that he has to delete them as to keep his audience wanting more! He has the hottest girlfriend who he keeps hidden as much as possible cause her beauty makes all his fans jizz immediately. He cooks the BEST sauce that he has to keep it in the fridge just incase the urge for deliciousness gets too hard to bare. (I mean really, FOUR cups of Sugar? That's gotta be so good man) His fans are SO loyal some even make video compilations of his playthroughs that bring more eyes to his videos. And when he plays a game, like Burnout, he's such a good sport that he helps those like Chris Chan the chance to see a boom in viewership.

I know this was dumb, but fuck it, Phil is just a funny cow and the tard cum he produces just by existing should make lesser cows tremble in envy.

Jealous of Phil's cockroach luck, maybe. Everything else? Nah. I mean, if I committed benefits fraud and started melting into a stank-ass loveseat in front of my PS4 I'd basically have the same quality of life Phil does.

DSP just received these two $100 tips:

View attachment 1653416 View attachment 1653405

First one could be real, since Battleduck9000 is an actual whale, though as far as I'm aware, it's usually spelled 'Battleduck9000' (no capital D). The 'nocouture' tip seems fake to me, since it's the misspelled version of 'nocoture', the person that to my recollection has never said a word, but just sends money without a message, making that the first thing this person has ever "said".

I guess we'll hear soon enough.

----------

-EDIT- He didn't whine about the $100 BattleDuck9000 tip, so it's real.

-EDIT- Yep, he deemed the 'nocouture' tip a fake one. Says someone made a new/fake PayPal account, trying to impersonate the actual nocoture. DSP is really angry, lol.
His anti fake tip measures have failed. :stress:

-EDIT- Clip of the angry rant:

-EDIT- Another fake tip. By "the same guy", according to DSP:

View attachment 1653531

So here we are: back to checking his phone after every sizeable tip, just like before his anti fake tip measures. :story:

View attachment 1653530

-EDIT- Another two fake tips came in, $50 and $20. DSP even pauses the gameplay to check his phone, twice. DSP's conclusion: "That guy is trying derail my stream, but it isn't working." Lol what?

-EDIT- And another fake tip, $15 this time. DSP pauses the game again to check his phone, making some salty remarks. His stream is not getting derailed, though.

-EDIT- And a $35 fake tip. I'm going to stop keeping count now; it's pretty clear he's being slammed with fake tips, despite making a PayPal accounts mandatory.

Honestly. Fake Tips are the one thing I kinda agree with Phil on, they are a pain in the ass, but stopping the stream for it is essentially just giving the fake tipsters what they want, by which I mean pissing off his actual paying audience. He needs to learn to be a man and just take it. Maybe only mention it after the stream. Just not during the damned show. Actors are meant to be able to let things slide if they keep them from performing properly!

I'm starting to see a trend every "street fighter Friday" where the usual suspects along with some new people are handing our favorite idiot his ass for most of the night when he isn't running from lobbies. Its only a matter time before he's ran off of super turbo; which will be good since he's god awful at the game.

I honestly cannot understand why he keeps playing fighting games. He was always mediocre at best and he's lagged behind the mean considerably. I am an avid and ravenous TIHYDP watcher, but by god, his fighting compilations are the one thing I can't stomach even ironically. Soulsborne and Kojima games are by far his best "ironic watches", and single player games are his best "unironic watches".

Being envious means you wished it were you in that same situation. I am not envious of phil. And the fact he makes more money is irrelevant. Drug smugglers in Mexico who burn whole families alive make more money than me but I’m not envious of him.
in reality Phil has a dead end job with terrible job security and none of the prospects to move their career past streaming to other forms of content creation that younger more enjoyable streamers do.

In a sense, yes. I would happily take 200k/year to get trolled and play video games. The tractors are less annoying than normal co-workers, HR, and management and I'd have more free time.

I could do all my socialization at parties, the gym, and vacations.
Here's the thing: if you'd be happy doing that, then you wouldn't be like DSP, and so you can't say you're envious of DSP, just envious of one particular aspect of his life.

Phil is miserable, is one of the laughingstocks of the internet, is a toxic piece of shit who most people want to stay away from, and is an antisocial hermit and shameless beggar.

You can be envious of him getting money to play videogames. Most young people would want that, I assume. But it's not like that makes us envious of Phil. I'd like to be rich, but I'm not envious of the life of some pedo from the british royal family, nor am I envious of the life of some millionaire coke dealer in Colombia.

The answer that we'll ever get to this question is this:
Yeah, in the same way anyone is jealous of anyone else, on a surface level. Some might want to be like him, the thing with Phil is that we know too much about his shitty life, shitty wife and gouty blight to want to BE him.

Leon Breitling

kiwifarms.net
I'll just quote a post I made elsewhere:
This is what makes his "The detractors are just jealous of my success!" shtick amusing to me. It's so very surface level, and I can see what I assume is his thought process: "I'm getting paid to play games and they aren't, they're just jealous!" And in many cases, not just detractors, he might have a point, but only up to that surface level thought. Upon closer inspection, his lifestyle isn't even a fraction as glamorous as he thinks it is. He's a slave to his own schedule and habits, refuses to change and improve to further his "career," went bankrupt, and most noticeably, and importantly, of all, he doesn't enjoy playing the games anymore.

Phil hates video games. I love video games and the last thing in the world I'd want is for them to become a job I hate. I play games to get away from the shitty world, not to bring the shitty world in to them and make them panhandling sessions. Between his job not being as ideal as it seems and his infamy I'd rather be just about anyone instead of DSP.

My advice to people: If you're jealous of DSP you need to open your eyes and look past the money. Money doesn't mean shit if you're a fucking idiot, hence the bankruptcy and massive debt.
