Anyways, the title's self-explanatory. Personally, I like Clip Studio Paint. CSP pro is a pretty good price (50 dollars for one time purchase, but also 2 dollars per month).
Medibang is a pretty good free alternative as well as it's retarded cousin, Firealpaca.

SimTunes is the perfect art composition software because it combines audio and video into a beautiful whole.

I think you can find it as shovelware/freeware nowadays.

I'm using GIMP right now and it serves me well for digital coloring but there's a ton of editing stuff I don't know how to do on it. Clip Studio Paint I've heard fantastic things about and am going to check out soon. I think I've heard people suggest Firealpaca in some art classes.

Friend of mine uses and swears by Paint Tool SAI but also occasionally likes messing with ArtFire and will occasionally try other things. Generally they come back to Paint Tool SAI for actually getting stuff done, though.

No clipping masks and no adjustment layers though, i think those started on CS5. For me thats a good version to stick to, later ones didn't add anything except they eat more resources for no reason.

The latest version of Photoshop CC is absolute garbage and i do not recommend it, someone on Adobe needs to be shot for what they did to the transform tool.

CSP went on sale a little while ago so I was able to get it for only like 20 bucks. My friend recommended it to me after his iPad broke because we both used to just draw on our iPads. Honestly, I'm liking it, I just dick around on it with my laptop with the stylus my college gave me.

Sketchbook is getting pretty good too, I have it on my phone. Did a few paintings on it and they came out quite well.

The art program I mostly use is the one that actually brought me to make my account on the Farms, though.

I do genuinely like the app as far as drawing on it goes, I'd go so far as to recommend it even, because it's not exactly expensive, and the guy who made it is very cool. I mostly do silly little cartoons and I dunno, it just works really well for me, and I'm very used to it because I've had it for years now. It has this one draggable vector shape drawing tool and that's incredibly useful for the stuff I do, I don't know what other software has one that works the way it does. App's very good on an iPad especially, I'll tell you that.
Just...maybe avoid the community for it. If you've seen my first post on here, you'll know why.

For strictly drawing, then software wise they are all fairly easy to pick up and will have similar tools, there's barely a few differences for interface between one and the other.

You could try SAI or Clip Studio, both of those are really good for drawing. Photoshop is powerful for editing and its very versatile but it relatively sucks for drawing and painting and its way more laggy.

I've been using CSP for a long time. If you can afford the RAM, I'd go with Photoshop, but if you don't want to spend the monthly fee, CSP is definitely a good alternative.

It's also gained quite a few tutorials this year too.

Although I'm enjoying my time with Clip Studio, I still have a soft spot for Artweaver for a quick fix, it's pretty much a free PhotoShop without the bells and whistles, but it made for a good beginner's program to get used to the idea and layout. It's my go-to recommendation for newbies kinda by habit even though GIMP exists. I honestly like the default brushes it comes with, the airbrush especially. Was one of the things I missed when I eventually got PhotoShop in college.

Artweaver Plus is supposed to be more like PhotoShop in a way, but last I remembered about it was it did take some things away, probably because true professionals don't use cheats like rendering clouds and lighting effects.
