Ashu Solo is a loose associate of Jonathan "Dzon" Bishop and has been previously discussed in that thread as such. He lives in Saskatoon, Canada; he became a living meme for literally trying to steal Christmas via complaints about "Merry Christmas" signs violating his "human rights" as well as being offended by the mayor of his city reciting a Christian prayer.

His day job is a researcher, and he could likely go down in history as a rather successful man. However, he's made a joke out of himself by acting like an easily triggered jackass all over Canada and the Internet. A while back he was embroiled in a controversy over the above and received a backlash that he categorized as racist based on a handful of people sending racist tweets about him.

Human rights activist Ashu MG Solo said that David Ward MP’s comments were a welcome change from the Zionist biases that plague the western establishment. “Most western political parties are in the pockets of the pro-Israel lobby composed of Zionist Jews, right-wing Christians, the military industrial complex, Muslim haters, and ignorant voters,” Solo said. “They cover up the truth and call anyone who tells the truth about Israel an ‘anti-Semite.’ David Ward is a courageous politician who is telling people the truth.”

This is very true, and actually the rabbit hole on this is quite deep. Ashu is actually involved with another guy, Hamid Arabnia, and these two have been hosting an "Academic" conference over the course of the past decade that is noted for allowing research that should not have passed peer review. A key quote here is as follows:

It is not unreasonable to request the record of peer review and to duck other people trying to audit and check that it is happening calls into question WORLDCOMP's validity as a reputable scholarly institution. That would be if they were reputable to beginwith
WORLDCOMP, Ashu Solo and Jonathan Bishop. David Harrison also makes the allegation that WORLDCOMP is responsible for spam emails, harassing phonecalls to researchers and publishing research without going through the process of peer review.

Jonathan Bishop is a "hidden" member of WORLDCOMP's organizing committee
and he receives a share from WORLDCOMP's profits. He acts as a neutral
or impartial or third party researcher and defends WORLDCOMP and his
friend Hamid Arabnia whenever they are in trouble. He is also a close
friend of Ashu Solo (Google: Ashu Solo Christmas), the publicity chair
of WORLDCOMP, who makes harassing phone calls to WORLDCOMP's critiques

Jonathan Bishop has papers in WORLDCOMP proceedings and some of these
papers were co-authored by Ashu Solo and the proceedings are co-edited

With WORLDCOMP, Ashu is officially noted as the "Publicity Chair'; a dubious title for an institution focused on scholarly advancement.

There are a number of websites purporting information about WORLDCOMP, with interesting information. They make a number of interesting claims. It is important to note that there is an entire industry that hack researchers and fledgling professors rely on because of the "publish-or-perish" paradigm which exists in academia. There are other implications of this paradigm but they aren't important here.

In 2014, the well-known fake conference organizer, Hamid Arabnia, has started another bogus conference "International Conference on Computational Science and Computational Intelligence (CSCI)" and its website is here . The venue of this fake conference is also Las Vegas. More conferences means more money from registration fee: Hamid Arabnia's hunger for money is worse than the hunger of a Fat Pig.

A researcher, Dr. John Levine actually received threats from Ashu because he outted this scandal.

NOTE: On Feb 14, 2012, someone calling himself "Jonathan"
called me and threatened to sue me about the comment below,
saying "you'll lose your house." He claimed to be a lawyer,
but was oddly unwilling to provide an address or any other
information. Draw your own conclusions about whether this
is what real conference organizers do, keeping in mind that

On Feb 15, 2012, he called again at 11:30 PM and threatened
me again. But he doesn't seem to be a lawyer any more.

Another Researcher Ralf Lammel also outted them on twitter and were emailed asking for offending material to be removed. Lammel changed his posts several times, and was asked to change them again and again. He finally sent out a request for any WORLDCOMP reviewer to reach out to him.

    The author of fake-paper-1 never received any "compiled referees' report" stated by Hamid Arabnia. We believe that Hamid Arabnia stated the "compiled referees' report" just to trick the author by creating a feeling that there was a real review going on.

Hamid Arabnia didn't want to waste any more time by putting the author on hold waiting for "reviews", as it was the case for fake-paper-1. 3. Details of All Papers Submitted to 2010 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IC-AI'10) of WORLDCOMP 2010

On June 3, 2011, Hamid Arabnia sent an email to some authors of IC-AI'10 that contains all details of all submitted papers of IC-AI'10 (download the file, all-accepted-papers-of-IC-AI-10.pdf, available at the end of this webpage). It looks he has sent these details inadvertently or due to system error. This email includes the schedule of IC-AI'10 and most importantly, the details of each and every paper (paper number, paper title, authors of the paper, email addresses of authors, whether RRP or SRP (ie, category of acceptance), and optional comments for example if the author paid the fee or if the author cannot attend the conference and "review").

Some abbreviations Hamid Arabnia used:
RRP: Regular Research Paper
SRP: Short Research Paper

As you can visualize from this file, all submitted papers were accepted with most papers (98%) accepted as RRP. Except for comments for example "writeup suffers from poor english", no other review was conducted.
