Astral Projection -

Has anyone tried it? I remember I was very close once but pussied out. I keep having dreams where I do it and think it's real but with some limits. I can't shapeshift into the opposite sex or open my eyes without waking up.

For those of you who don't know what the fuck im talking about, it's intentionally having an out-of-body experience. It seems fun.

I never said I believed in all the new age mumbo jumbo, but OOB experiences are definitely a noted phenomenon.
All right, you guys can give me puzzles if you like but here's some mysticism sperging. The problem with astral projection is that you're leaving your body open. It probably doesn't sound like a big deal to most people, but there's two things to understand: the first is that it's magic, and the second is that because its magic it attracts entities. I'll be the first to admit that 9 times out of 10 it's likely fine (mostly from good supernatural forces that guard humanity), but magic comes with a price. I'm not sure you'll want the price to be your body if something strong or motivated enough takes notice, but hey, maybe it'll just want to experience human life for a few hours and you'll luck out.

i'm still trying. well, i've reached some pretty interesting mental states without any chemical assistance. but the quest to be a spooky ghost irl continues.

if nutty crazy weirdos claim they done it without any special assistance, no reason i can't give it a shot.

i don't care bout people calling names or laughing at nutters. proud kook 4 lyfe.

also just for fun, thought i'd mention that Astral Projection is a theme in some movies and stories. james cameron Avatar could sort of kind of be considered about astral projection, albeit with a machine that sends the user's soul to a lab-grown body. and Wolfwalkers is similar in how the werewolf-esque characters fall asleep and astral project into a physical and mortal wolf. and if their physical wolf form doesn't re-merge with their sleeping human bodies, they die or something.

there's probably more.

Anywhere worth astral projecting into has systems in place to imprison your disembodied soul. Just check out those niggas caught trying to check out dulce. Projecting sounds fun, dead end.

If by astral projection you mean lucid dreaming, sort of, I've done it very few times by accident. The places I've been to have all been "dream worlds" and not "actual" places.
I've been trying with little luck.
I've had shared dreams in the past too. It was random.

Astral projection is the dumbest woowoo bullshit ever. if it's real, there's a simple way to test it.
have 2 rooms, one with a person who will "AP", the other with an object, for simplicity let's say it's a yellow bandana. If the person can AP into the next room (which apparently is what you're supposed to do), he will see the bandana, which he will have no prior knowledge of. for the experiment, he's meant to go into the next room and find a certain banadana and describe it. so he will describe the pattern and color. if he can't do that, it's fake. if he can, and we are 100% certain he had no knowledge of it before, then it's real.
But these woowoo types will never let you do a scientific, double blind experiment. they're too busy having gross orgies and smoking pot while making a laughing stock of themselves on the internet.
Just how I like it ;)

if this shit was even remotely real, why aren't we using it for spelunking, planetary exploration. mapping of the ocean, or hell, checking buildings for broken pipes? all these new age faggots will try to say it's been covered up or something, but the easiest explanation is that they're lying.

There's a decent subreddit with a lot of information and instructions.

People who claim to be able to do it will tell you that it won't work if you don't believe it will, so it's a tough topic to approach with uncertainty. The steps to do it 'correctly' are a pain in the ass and are another barrier for anyone trying it out casually. People say it takes a lot of practice and that it's like using a muscle you've never used before.

It's apparently a common claim among AP'ers that we don't need to worry because our souls are powerful enough to protect ourselves and our bodies while projecting. AP'ers seem to believe that humans by default have a type of soul that is more powerful than other creatures' and is resistant to possession/etc. as long as we don't give into fear. I can't find it now, but I remember having seen a post along the lines of "remember, you are an immortal being having a temporary human existence."

About a year ago, I had read through enough info that I wanted to give it a shot. I tried a few times to go through the steps, and each time I would just have a vivid dream of an alternate version of the area around my house. I now dream about that 'alternate world' on some nights, but that was the only lasting effect the attempts had. All-in-all it was weird enough that I won't rule out AP being possible, especially since I didn't put a huge amount of time in, but it was far from a wild supernatural adventure. I just try to keep an open mind about this kind of thing because I expect that a lot of it could be explainable once we've made more progress in quantum physics.

I think the existence of stuff like this is why there're a lot of conspiracies surrounding it. The hobbyist side seems to stay fairly separate from the conspiracy stuff, though, if the AP subreddit's approach is any indication.

Dreamworlds can be fairly consistent.

If you lost your body couldn't you just possess another? Anyway, maybe you find that you prefer not having a flesh prison and we are going about it wrong.

Either way, OP needs to stop doing drugs.
