Seeing as how they found copies of the game, one has to wonder if they even work. Then again, being buried for about 3 decades could make sure those copies wouldn't work on an Atari 2600.

The film is a comedy so it can still work. Also, it never really was an urban legend, this was pretty factual as the Alamogordo commissioner said way back in 1983 that he didn't want anything like this happening again.

I would be really stoked if it turned out that a good deal of these cartridges worked three decades later. That would be so glorious.

I would like to have one but I'm not sure I'd pay money for one.
