So Netflix put out the trailer for Atypical, a show about a young autistic guy trying to navigate life. In other words, the life stories of most of the other people here:

This is legitimately annoying. I wonder what it's like for actual autistic people to watch shows like these and see the character they're supposed to relate to act like a creepy inappropriate weirdo. Chris-chan is a cautionary tale, not a role model.

Fortunately for them actual autistic people only watch MLP and anime so they'll be spared this embarrassment.

And feminist youtuber will do the same thing with tumblr and comparing 13 reasons why on how to do mental illness 'right' and why 13 reasons why sucks bla bla bla. I wouldn't called it fucked up the same way you would say assigned male isn't representative enough but the show won't be a masterpiece for that long either.

Sounds like some high quality work. When you work on Baywatch your career really can't move anywhere else but down.

So it's some sperg with inappropriate ideas on how to get sex from girls? I hope someone complains loud enough to be heard. It's just telling mentally challenged people that it's ok to act like this. And the self diagnosed tumblrinas will either love it or REEEE so loud they'll break glass.

According to the extended Netflix trailer, he still managed to get a girl. Even with this, the film is just "meh" because there are so many other stories you could tell about spergs, including real stories. Besides Grandin, therw's the following people they could talk about:

•John Elder Robinson
Found solace from his mentally ill parents in electronics for music, worked his way through various corporate jobs,including designing toys, ended up running his own business as a car mechanic, got married and had a son, all the while unaware of his Aspergers until 40.
•Jennifer Clarke O'Toole
Joined MENSA at age 7, attended a prestigious college, worked as a police officer and English teacher, and managed to have 4 kids and a husband

These people are better subjects than Atypical's subject because they show spergs actuslly getting shit done and living productive adult lives.

Anyways, Sam, the series' main character, should worry about getting an actual job as an adult more than getting a girlfriend.
In the trailer, he works as a part-time associate for the local electronics company. _ That_ might not last long because of his 'tism.

If the boss gets notified of his disability, they might more incentive to keep him since 85% of spergs are unemployed. However, the sheer percentage of unemployed autists indicates that their lack of social skills is their major stumbling block.

I would be pleasantly surprised if Atypical actually considered jobs for spergs.

Personal question, do you have a family or friends that has autism or are you speaking as a autistic person yourself? Because you seem way more overtly concerned about the mental illness way more than half of the users on this site, which they portrayed autism as a negative than a positive.
