I think we're reaching the point where everyone in the world who wanted to buy one as a curio has already done so, given the slow sales of the last batch. Hopefully we'll at least get some more increasingly desperate Facebook e-begging when this batch fails to reach sales expectations.

No, it was the amiibos that sold slowly. Chris has been pretty unhappy about admitting that, because he doesn't like to admit that Sonichu isn't the star of the show.
The medallion sales have stayed consistently strong every time he put them up. They sold out within a day or two every time.
Edit: And to clarify, the sales obviously will die down at some point. But they're not going to go from selling out immediately one month, to never selling at all. It's going to be a gradual rampdown.

I think he'd hit market saturation pretty quickly if he released batches every month like this for long, but would probably be able to have pretty steady sales if he waited two or three months between them.
There's a certain market saturation, but I don't think they have a lot of resale value. Part of why people buy them is they want one Chris made just for them.
