These turkeys seem not to understand that it's irrelevant to the issue at hand - legalising SSM will entail removing references to gender altogether (as it was before 2004), so it will include all kinds of special snowflake marriages. If they really want to expand the debate to trans/enby marriages because they don't like gay people getting all of the attention, I guarantee they will lose a non-trivial amount of "yes" votes by trying to make it about them.

One of the country's top universities has warned maths students not to use the term 'marriage' when referring to a well-known theorem because the word may cause 'offence.'

They did consider it. One of the things the no campaigners were whining about before the High Court gave the go ahead was the likelihood of corporate and union money going to the yes campaign. They also whined about how unnamed overseas sources were likely to fund the yes campaign (which is a bit rich given that overseas sources have been involved in orchestrating the no campaign).

That said, while the "love is love" type messages might have broad appeal, they can be undone by anarchist fuckwits with industrial piercings headbutting a former PM. He might not have been a formal part of the yes campaign, but every single media article I came across mentioned that he supported SSM and it was easy to portray him in a "this is the kind of person who votes yes" light.

Middle Australia mightn't run into shrieking, danger-haired genderblobs, but they do consume the mainstream media. Some who would be happy to vote yes when it's all firemen and ambos being portrayed as the face of the yes campaign, might think again when a different face is put forward. They mightn't vote no, but if they haven't already returned their survey they might just bin it.

It was also annoying as shit to see yes campaigners gleefully posting on social media about how many yes votes they returned do to receiving surveys for previous occupants who hadn't changed their address with the AEC but then being outraged about ballot papers being stolen from mail boxes in some areas. VIEWERS have reacted after they saw Macklemore finally sing Same Love — and Channel Nine ran an ad for the No campaign straight after it.
The American rapper had many Australians behind him after he took to the stage at the NRL Grand Final and sang his hit song — which has been at the centre of controversy for the past week.
Despite the heated debate around the song choice, he did not let it stop him from performing the marriage quality anthem.
But the decision to air a TV advertisement for the No campaign immediately after Macklemore’s song on Channel Nine has viewers scratching their heads with confusion.
The Coalition for Marriage ad had many on social media talking.

While some say it did not affect their viewing of the rugby league match or Macklemore’s performance, others criticised Channel Nine for letting the ad air right after his live act.
It comes after a new TV ad by the ‘No’ same-sex marriage campaign was approved to run during the NRL Grand Final broadcast.
According to Sky News, the advertisement was not run during the Richmond v Adelaide AFL Grand Final clash after it was classified M due to its contents.

This ad did not appear to air during the NRL Grand Final match between the North Queensland Cowboys and Melbourne Storm.
The ad features abusive social media messages the Coalition for Marriage says it has received from ‘Yes’ campaigners on social media since the postal survey campaign over same-sex marriage began.
The ruling was made by CAD, the television industry body responsible for classifying advertisements.
