I'm new to this whole Lolcow thing but from the few I've looked up I notice there all autistic.
That, or their faking it to get attention. Like Nick Bate who did so to copy a cyber girlfriend's mannerisms.
So Is this reoccurring thing? Is being an autistic the new black? The few I've met had oddities granted but they seemed like normal mental handicapped people.
I don't want to sound mean but when I think about my mannerisms I now think to myself
"at least I'm not as bad as Chris-chan"

I don't think you get it. This forum doesn't use the word "autism" literally. "Autism" is often used as a slang word that encompasses all mental disorders and oddities, or as a general insult for someone who cares too much about things that don't matter/obsesses over trivial things/overanalyzes/has no social decorum. It's something that has been carried over from the chans.

The majority of major lolcows are mentally ill in some form, yeah. A lot of them have autism because it is a common neurological/mental issue.

Since you're new I'll give a small beginner tip : it's generally speaking a faux-pas to make comparisons of a lolcow and yourself. Even if you're joking if you're new people might not always get the joke and assume that you're trollshielding . I think you did mean it as a joke, but when you're new it's better to play it safe.

In my opinion, while autism can be an important factor in what makes one a lolcow, it is not the only one. There are plenty of Schizophrenic lolcows (Gail Schuler comes to mind) and people that simply have delusions of grandeur (The Amazing Atheist) I think that lolcowism mainly occurs in people who think that they are better than everyone else.

But yeah probably most lolcows are autistic, maybe 50-something-percent. The rest are not autistic but have various other mental issues. And a few may just march to the beats of different drummers .
