I made a baby blanket for my friend, and experimented with making a mickey mouse hat. I'm content with how the blanket turned out, but the ears on the hat are a little wonky.

I do a bit of cosplay (can’t show any of them bc I’ve posted on other sites w them, but atm they’re just clothes modification), I want to work on a blanket but irl shit is in the way.

But my main thing in the winter is those Christmas villages. I only started last year, but damn a coat of paint and some glitter can fix a lot, even if my taste in colors is just a fucking rainbow

at the beginning of covid/wfh I got into succulents. I don't know if this is the correct thread but, I get pretty artsy with the planting and what I plant them in and the whole set up. I have about 150 now in a mix of 20 bigger planters and 10 smaller ones.

I do cross stitch. Both of these pieces are for my late mother. The bottom is the first one I ever finished, and the lion is for Leo, my mum's sun sign in Astrology.
Stitching is meditative for me, and I use that time to also watch or listen to podcasts, books, and talks to learn more.

My future projects are redoing an oujia board I fucked up lol, gifts for others that appreciate the time and effort stitching takes, and also home related pieces for seasons, occasions, and family.

With all the extra masks I have now because of Corona I might start soap carving again— anyone know of a good sealant spray? I can’t remember the one I used to use a while back:/

I know how to make friendship bracelets - the classic thin ones with a striped or chevron pattern, and some that are wider and more elaborate
I love making friendship bracelets! Do you know anywhere online to get patterns for them? I know a bunch but I used to have this huge book of them and there are some I never got around to learning, now I really want to make more. I'd like to find that book again.

My husband just found like 10 back issues of Interweave Crochet at the thrift store, so lately I've been doing projects from there. I'm working on this filet crochet shawl now. I am going to do one in ecru and one in a kind of rusty color. I haven't decided what color beads i wanna use yet.

I mostly visit friendship-bracelets.net and braceletbook.com - there are certainly other sites, but I can say for sure that both of them have an active community, so new patterns are frequently uploaded (especially on braceletbook), as well as photos, videos and various tutorials. You can also find alpha patterns on both sites, but only friendship-bracelets has a third type of pattern, the kumihimo.

That shawl look so pretty! I've tried crochet before and wasn't very successful, but I remember liking it more than knitting, mainly because it's possible to create very light, airy and openwork garments.

What (if anything) do you weave those on? It's not quite the same but I've been wanting to get into old fashioned tablet weaving. The specialized looms are pretty expensive, but I've seen some makeshift set ups online that are doable.
You don't need anything to weave them on if you do "normal" patterns (like the ones I've posted), but from what I can gather, alpha patterns are more similar to weaving. You have a number of base strings/threads which are used as a background for other strings to knot into. Because the knotting pattern is horizontal in alpha patterns rather than diagonal (like in normal patterns), it's possible to recreate words, logos and pieces of art.

I randomly decided to try spinning yarn and might dye the yarn once I finish spinning my third attempt. I made an octopus cat toy for my brother's cats from my first try, used my second attempt for an infinity scarf along with some scrap yarn I had lying around after a different project. Yay for random quarantine hobbies lol.
