So I recently found this one channel on YouTube about soap carving, and oh my god, it looks so fun and relaxing. They look like such nice gifts too.

I really want to try it but I still need to improvise/buy a carving knife. @Dr.Research do you have any experience on this?

Soap carving? No, but it does look cool. I'd definitely want to try it.
I think my next semi-fancy addition to soap will probably be pressed patterns. You can buy these rubber mats (for lack of a better term. But they're not like floor mats, more so the size of a piece or paper or two) and press then into your soap so the pattern presses in. You can also do it reverse so the pattern pops out.

I made this little guy out of polymer clay and dryer lint. I want to make a few more, I'm hoping to get into this upcoming craft show so I need lots of clay figurines as well as some of the other artsy crap I have.

I recently learned how to crochet, and I've taken to making baby blankets. I ended up with an unusually large amount of leftover yarn for this blanket (idk what I did differently), so I made everyone hats! Baby gets a bear hat, mama gets a beret, and dad gets a slouchy beanie.

Can't remember if I've posted here and I'm not about to look through 8 pages but, I'm currently learning about dress patterns and hand sewing one of them right now. Someday I'll own a sewing machine, but hand sewing does the job too.

How do you get hats in crochet to not have that stupid ass obvious seam? I’ve given up on anything circular because I cannot I see that fucking seam.

Mine still have the seam, but I make sure those sides are face down in photos lmao. I'm sure there's a way, but I haven't figured it out yet because I'm lazy.
I think the beret was the only one without a super obvious seam, but the pattern isn't super tight like the other hats, which I think made the difference.

Baby hat pattern
Beanie Pattern
And the beret pattern. I used the remains of my blanket yarn, so idk how much yarn it was exactly, but one 7oz skein should be more than enough:

Oh, I can help with this one!

If you like weaving in ends, this is the most-invisible join solution to the obvious jog of which I am aware:
https://www.craftsy.com/crocheting/article/crochet-invisible-join/

If your project will always be right-side-facing (this method creates a bump on the back) here is a pattern-based stitch tutorial that shows you how to mimic the above invisible join without making so many ends:
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/callida-jar-cosy-featuring-the-mock-invisible-join

Probably the easiest way is to slipstitch in the back loop of a few stitches at the beginning of each round, then start the new round in a new spot. This staggers the starting chains so the jog is much less noticeable.

I think these are the most versatile solutions to the obvious jog; there are others, too, if these turn out to be no good for your purposes.

Oh we have a crafting thread here.

I’ve been knitting like a madwoman in preparation for the holidays. I just finished Jayne’s Cunning Hat last night for the husband. I’m not quite thrilled with the colors since they aren’t quite the right shade but I know he’ll love it.

I knit it to fit his massive noggin so I’ve included a picture of me wearing it too.
