Back in 2015 when this dumb tumblr shit was at it's peak all the traumacore cunts would gravitate towards this pseudosatanic shit. Nicole Dollanganger and her shitty songs come to mind, every day I would see some furfag at DA posting vents drawings with with lyrics from her songs, usually alluding to Satanism or some other edgy try hard crap.
Really, it's just the uwu crowd infecting and ruining yet another genre.
Well we also have to remember it's probably also fueled by openly resenting the fact her mother pushed JW religion shit on her all the time... just sayin'. I remember a while back she tweeted a bit about wanting to get into witchcraft and Satanism just to rebel against her upbringing but I think she either chickened out or people told her that it's dumb to do that just because she was in her 'fuck you mom' phase. I've said this before but it's still relevant; Why do cows regress in their art? Ill never understand. Even if its popularity reasons, i much rather continue bringing out my best artwork or at least anything with decent effort.

1. Twitter user can be stupid as fuck and Puppychan's fanbase has a lot of stans who will bow down to her as if she was a god and cherish all of her artwork like it was the Bible.
2. Cows regress in their art because of 2 reasons, laziness and enabling by fans.

i feel like there's a lot of reasons why a cow could regress, such as:
- pure laziness. they don't have to put in effort to easily get 1k+ likes so why should they bother?
- "validation." it's somewhat of a joke in a few artist communities (if not all) that artists that make original works hardly get recognition, so already having a good amount of followers means that people like autumn can easily pump out their "progressive" artwork and get as many asspats as they can from it.
- lack of care. art is something that's mostly passion-based; if you don't like what you're doing, it causes the process to feel more like a chore rather than something you look forward to. one of the worst things an artist is when they lose their passion. think of people like tearzah- although their work was always amateur at best, there was clear passion in the work they produced back in 2016-2018 (the pastel goth era).

I mean, at least I don't see any of the white outline commonly associated with using the fill tool improperly, and the black shading isn't too distracting. So good job on that, Puppy.

I just wanted to add, that again, you don't have to be really good at art in order to get attention on social media. I'd even go as far as to saying it's not a requirement. Many people aren't just following for that, but for other's personalities as well. Contrary to popular belief, you can't just post decent art and run when first starting off on social media. Unless your art is god-tier and you're incredibly consistent you'll fade into the background. As a result, many creators end up finding a niche in which they can interact with others and succeed. Puppychan fits right in with the woke UWU artist crowd so it isn't surprising how they garnered so much attention. When you can convince people that you're a good person by putting up a façade, it's easy for many unsuspecting/naïve fans to follow under the guise of helping "marginalized" artists.
It's no surprise that due to the niche Puppychan fell into that their work stagnated. Mainly because these circles are never about taking any accountability for your actions. Instead, it's all about how everyone else is at fault for everything else. That includes their own personal artwork. There's a point to be made how these circles only exist to coddle artists who are too insecure to realize that they need to work on their art and most of all, themselves. Yes, it's understandable that getting good at art can be a daunting and difficult task, but many people also realize that eventually you gotta bite the bullet and put in that hard work to succeed.
When you're constantly being praised for just existing or having decent art, you aren't going to improve because why would you? People are already praising you for the bare minimum so there's no reason to go out of your comfort zone. No one in Puppychan's circle is allowed to tell them what's wrong with their art or give any suggestions on how to change it to make it better so it's no wonder they got to this point. They've been in a hugbox for the past few years and it shows.
I really hope that other dog/cat girl is a zombie, because if not... she's kissing a walking corpse.
