I'm mixed. On one hand this story has already been told. On the other hand, it could look really cool and it is the original team.
Why do we keep trying to adapt anime into live action? That shit doesn’t translate.
It's an American cartoon thoughSo they can sell the same shit again to normalfags who don't watch (asian) cartoons.
what the fuck is wrong with youKorra was better than Last Airbender.
It's an American cartoon though
It's netflix, expect there to be triple the niggers there were in the original.
I didn't watch Last Air Bender as a kid. I assume it doesn't hold the same appeal to an adult without nostalgia. Watching them close to back to back, Korra was more entertaining for me. Less village of the week crap, better animation, more interesting main character and villains, better soundtrack, more unique setting...what the fuck is wrong with you

i'm not going to get into an argument over a children's cartoon on A&H, so if you wanna' think the legend of "I'M THE AVATAR AND YOU GOTTA' DEAL WITH IT" korra is better then than the original, then by all meansI didn't watch Last Air Bender as a kid. I assume it doesn't hold the same appeal to an adult without nostalgia. Watching them close to back to back, Korra was more entertaining for me. I don't know what those "missteps" could possibly be other than that article was written by some dumb faggot who still won't accept Katara and Zuko didn't fug.I wish I archived this, but IGN had an article about how this live-action series could correct the original's "missteps." When I went back to look for it, they seem to have removed it entirely since all that comes up is a 404. They also put up a couple articles questioning whether it's smart to do the series in live-action.
Judging by the past decade, you've got two choices:
1. everything you loved gets remade because everyone's out of ideas and the remakes will at least have a fair chance to be good
2. someone comes up with a new IP and a new tumblr fanbase is born, even more cancerous than the last
I'll take #1 any day.
I think I've had this conversation before and I'm not sure this is true since I never found a citation. I have heard they had trouble marketing the show. The funniest thing about people mistakenly calling Avatar "anime" is that the series actually isn't very well liked in Japan, seemingly because most Japanese aren't too happy with the parallels between Imperial Japan and the Fire Nation. You have a point about this style not translating well though.
