Why hasn't anyone posted the earth bending gif yet? You know the one.
A well-made live action adaptation could certainly look cool, but I'm still nervous. Creators returning to a work which is already over and done with never results in anything good.
But if they stop remaking, they might have to gamble on new IPs that don't have a pre-established audience to lean on to make a shitty product.
I'm just baffled on why this is being done myself. They do remember that the last time this was done live action it was garbage, right? Like, what's the story even going to be? The Siege of Ba Sing Se? Bumi's rise to be king of Omashu? Just a fucking retread of the show?
Ya know we should really have a poll on which characters will get blackwashed or faggotwashed since asians are still considered basically white in the eyes of the REEEEEEE

I agree the woke freakout over Netflix is probably overblown (especially since the original creators are about as likely to make this shit woke as Netflix is), but Marco Polo was made by a very different Netflix, with very different leadership, and I don't think they are making an Avatar series with the intent of desperately trying to get the Chinese market to subscribe.
That's not necessarily a bad thing. I really wanted to like Marco Polo, and some parts of it were very good. But on the whole the show was a failure and I don't just mean financially.
