For a while I have been collecting websites that are in a legal grey area, and sell weird stuff. I wonder if anyone else has been doing the same.

Sell GPS and cellular jamers for reasonable prices.

High powered weapons and weapns systems. But you need to have papers to buy them. They sell RPGs and turrets.

Sell kits to make MAC clones

Biohacking equipment

Forum for drugs

Slov military equipment for sale: Plate carriers, suits, gear,

Sells rails for 3D printed glocks

Run by the Bob Lazar. Sells cheap chemicals and some radiation sources

Speaking of Biohacking, there was an article in either this or last month's issue of Time Magazine or The Guardian about how the 'next pandemic' could be manufactured by someone using those affordable biohacking kits, either accidentally or intentionally, supposedly within their own home. Personally, I found it to be a bit of fearmongering, given that bioweapon and disease laboratories that dabble in this field of work have highly stringent safety measures for a reason.

With regards to DNA sequencing specifically, the equipment used for it is remarkably miniaturised compared to what they originally used, and much more affordable too.

From where your standing this must seem like a 24 karat turn of bad luck

I really love the internet because you can go on government contractor websites and see a grenade launcher they have for sale. It is like window shopping at an armory

A homegrown plague might even be a threat. Unlike this covid-LARP.
Well now we know the answer to the fermi paradox. Some advance to another universe or dimension entirely and others that aren't that smart like ours go extinct because of the many many billions out there and the increasingly cheap and available biohacking technologies result in huge incurable diseases everywhere.

Well, isn't one of the main theories that it was developed by the Chinese government, rather than a non-state actor? It was largely about the proliferation of genetic technologies and their relative affordability compared to other potential NBC weapons.

Technically not illegal if you have the shekels for an NFA item.

I have been posting about this for years. It is the greatest threat to the fucking species and no one listens to me. For me it is a breaking point between my love of freedom, and my desire not to see everything I love infected with airborne rabies.

I know about them. I lurk on a lot of chemistry websites. Explosive chemistry is what got me into the field as a kid, but I never ended up making anything more powerful than flash powder really. Picric acid was only interesting because of the color. Hexamine perchlorate is really cool. If I could go back I would have also tried my hand at small amounts of NG.

I think that explosives are a great way to get people interested in chemistry as a profession. In fact, I know of multiple Nobel prize winners who liked to make drugs and explosives as teens. That is what got them into it. It is what gets lots of people into it.
