Winger at first wanted to be called "Sahara", they had the album cover made with the name on it at the lower right. At the last minute they found that another band had already claimed the name so they couldn't use it. What did they do? They just said "fuck it" and slapped a huge Winger logo at the top. Didn't even take the Sahara name off. Album wasn't called Sahara either. Just Winger.

To Hell with the Devil is probably Stryper's best known album. The simple all black cover with the band logo and the title in red is pretty well known too. That's because the early version showing the band as incredibly muscular shirtless angels casting Satan into hell with their guitars didn't go over well with the fanbase.

I'm a fan of all these bands, Anvil is actually really great as long as you're not expecting any sort of lyrical ability. Talented guys, awesome music, decent videos, but absolutely cringeworthy lyrics. It's become their trademark. Cheesy album covers and alliterative titles are what they do best. This is their latest that's coming out next year. There's about 20 albums and all are pretty goofy.

Dirty Looks is probably one of my favorite bands ever. Insanely underrated and unfortunately never really caught on but continued to put out consistently great music until the singer died in 2012. Considered one of the best 80s metal albums, their first album cover is just a close-up of his face. Their second one was a bit better though.

Story behind this one is kind of funny. They changed the cover after receiving critics stating posing shirtless with a "menacing" look made them look like tough boys selling themselves as uber aryan.

Holy shit, I remember that. Of course, a friend of mine said the first thing she thought when she saw that cover was "boy band." Hilariously enough, it's still the cover used for iTunes, instead of the "sanitized" version.
