I came to this thread out of boredom after hearing this game was a trashfire, and as I type this post up that video has 11 comments on it. Eleven. How the hell do you suck so bad you can't even get hate comments?Reminder that you can get stuck in a costume that can’t jump and end up softlocked.

Simply put, if you’re not a Sonic/NiGHTS sperg, chances are you’ve never heard of this game. It sold so poorly that Square Enix has now fired Yuji Naka.

Knowing The Quiet Man, Avengers, Left Alive... Yes. I think SE just dooms games that are not their typical FFs.
I heard many companies black listed him as well.
Balan didn't look great even in the previews and teaser videos and was kind of dead on arrival.
Final Fantasy has had a decent amount of stinkers too. I think their most consistent franchise is Dragon Quest.
- You can scrub through the video and notice how he didn't include a single bit of gameplay footage or even screenshots, it's just 27 minutes of a single facecam
- His channel goes back 12 years and you can amusingly watch as he loses his hair and gets less healthy looking over time (not that he started out looking particularly healthy)
- 112k subs, but no videos over the past year have broken 40k views, despite the entire planet being locked down
- 7/10 of his top ten most viewed videos are from over a decade ago, though none made it past a million views
Granted, early YouTube was a special point in time where you really could pull serious numbers with a video like "My Xbox 360 Collection". so, good for him for getting in while the getting was good.
But, holy crap, that guy is stagnation personified. He's not even trying to move on with the times. Now that's a true blue consoomer.

Game was a true blue disaster of the lowest degree, ruined Naka's career and finally proved to a lot of people that SE really is going downhill, but on the bright side at least the shitposting and jabbing was fun.
Final Fantasy XV is a love it or hate it game and Final Fantasy X2 was more popular in Japan than it was in the west. Final Fantasy XIII only got good in the sequels.
I met some pretty cool headed Balan fans that know the game is a dumpster fire. Then there are ones that reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee at Square Enix for ruining the game.
I was being rhetorical, since this thread is a lovely explanation into just how bad it sucks.

It can't be used as proof that SE is going downhill, it's not the genre that they're known for.
If final fantasy 13 x3 and 15 didn't sink them, Balan won't either.

well hey they still have N:TWEWY and Trials of mana was pretty good
A lot of people are still in denial about it and consider good sales as a sign of good quality. You can make money selling well-advertised and trusted shit, but its still shit. And its hard to fail with Trials of Mana since its a remake of a quality game. As for N: TWEWY, I guess we'll see.

I have no idea how long it will be because even if the game is garbage, there are still some strange souls, most of them being kids, hell the original photo's existence alone proves that.
And after all alot of the fanbase or people who were even interested in the first place were Sonic fans lel.

I wish this game was good, I dig it's artstyle (despite the weird looking farmer guy but even he has charm)

Trials was the only good mana remake they produced, and i still don't understand why they made adventures and secret suck so much.
Yeah okay Adventures was a shitty mobile remake(that also had a far better remake on the GBA), but Secret is a gigantic clusterfuck of "we need to stay as close to the original as possible/we have a low budget but we still give every single NPC voiced lines/ who directed the sountrack or did everyone just composed with their asses?
