Now while I like the 90s Batman and Justice league series well enough, I kinda feel burnt out by these semi "sequels" Bruce Timm keeps churning out year after year, especially since they always just end up being rather mediocre and never near the same level of good as the original stuff.

But of course, 90s babies and the "muh Kevin Conroy" crowd will eat this shit up

I can't blame them, nostalgia pandering has never been more profitable and on average their animated cape movies are way better than the live action stuff.

I'll be real and say that my heart twitched for a sliver of a second due to the huge fuckin' wave of nostalgia. At least Harley's in the jester costume and not in...whatever she wears nowadays. I dunno. Maybe it will be okay and not another Killing Joke. I'm not too confident though.

I think it's gonna be another Killing Joke tbh. The fanboys as usual creaming themselves over Kevin Conroy and Bruce Timm, but then the movie comes out and it'll be filled with weird story elements and awkward sex scenes.

I'll support solely based on the Harley Quinn costume alone. That and their animated stuff has a fairly good track record overall.

I wanna be excited but since the animated adaptation of The Killing Joke was such a piece of shit, I'm apprehensive. *Sigh* At least Poison Ivy is in this. And I love her design. I'll probably give this a chance although I'm not holding my breath.
It's not like Conroy is going to be active forever. I'm all for them jerking off the only Batman worth a shit since Adam West for every drop until he's done.
Conroy's getting old. Some of his lines in Arkham Knight sounded really phoned in. But he sounds pretty good in this. Perhaps I'm one of the Conroy tards that @friedshrimp was talking about but I hope he doesn't go anywhere soon despite his age.

From the looks of things, I don't see this movie turning out as shit as Killing Joke's adaptation did. But I'm going to be cautious with this one too.

The Killing Joke suffered because the additional material really had nothing to do with the basic story - it's basically a completely different film, and they tacked the comic on to the end. It didn't help that they tried to make the new material "adult," and consequently it was kind of cringey.

If this is a more original story, hopefully it can avoid those pitfalls and play to the strengths of the original animated series, i.e. quality storytelling and characterisation that doesn't insult the intelligence of its target audience and consequently appealed to an older demographic as well.

If you don't know the villain working with poison ivy, his name is Dr. Jason Woodrue AKA Floronic Man. He was the man responsible for turning Pamela Isley into Poison Ivy

And who's involved in this you might ask? You guessed it, J.J. Abrams.
