To be fair, given how much damage a BattleMech can take and still be repairable, that thing had to have been pounded to nothing more than random bits of twisted scrap metal. It had been stripped of just about everything left working or repairable before the Exodus and abandoned for two centuries before being found and repaired, and prior to that had been getting shot at non-stop during the Civil War, and then after recovery refitted as the basic ON1-K thanks to the lack of LosTech. It was also probably held together with the Inner Sphere version of bailing wire at that point, with duct tape on a few of the more valuable components.

So I was thinking of getting one more group of mechs. Should I go for the basic light/medium/heavy/assault thing I've been going for to further balance out what I have, or just say fuck it and go for a Steiner scout lance of four Atlases?

As a rule of thumb, fluff-consistent Lances tend to not have one of every class, nor all of one class, and they're named after the majority. So a "light" lance would be 3 Light 'Mechs and 1 Medium 'Mech, while a "medium" lance could be 1 Light, 2 Medium and 1 Heavy 'Mech. If you a "standard" Lance, go 1 Light, 1 Medium and 2 Heavies. With that you get a scout, a skirmisher, and two slabs of titanium and boron nitride to both draw and dish out fire.

Happily enough, football (even though I have a suspicion it means of the American sort) is already played on Noisiel, along with, among other things, 'Mech rugby and 'Mech chess. I on the other hand want them to play Association football simply to see something like this (pic taken from the Judge Dredd story were several city blocks were revealed to be giant robots disguised as city blocks):

Well, there was that one planet that lacking a military during the CI challenged the Ghost Bears to a game of football over the planet. Its a miracle they scored any points given the Bears had a full team of Elementals. Yeeep.
They scored a field goal at the end of the game, don't know if they let them get it out of respect or pitty.
Maybe both I'm thinking.
Also Razorfist dumped his shitty take on MW5. I'm more in coming in his shitty takes on stuff Lorewise. His concept of everything regressing during and after 3015 is complete horseshit, compounded by the fact he used the Timber Wolf as a defense to the reason why technology is old based on the fucking cockpit.
I'm honestly questioning if this man is truly a fan of the series.
Both seems like the best explanation. I have to wonder how many of their opponents walked off the field afterwards as opposed to being carried away on stretchers during the game. Imagine being a regular normal QB and you get nailed by a charging Elemental. You'd become a religious man right on the spot if all your bones were intact afterwards.
Oh, he's a fan alright. He just doesn't believe in scripts and he runs his mouth off (and he doesn't allow other people to correct him). If a take doesn't get cut because he laughed or flubbed halfway, he uses it no matter how stupid the argument was. That's why some of his videos sound disjointed. I think the only ones he actually follows a script for are some of his longer Metal Mythos videos, and even then he might just use bulletpoints for those.
I'll agree with him that the game is too grindy for its own good, but this is a bit of a "giving players what they want" kind of thing. Everybody and their dog were clamoring for an open-ended campaign like MW4 Mercs. Well, Piranha released a campaign so open-ended its ass falls off whenever you hit a reputation wall. Me, I would much rather have a linear campaign in 4 acts like MW4 Vengeance, maybe with Mercs-style "choose when you do it" paths, and leave the replayability (the holy grail of game publishers these days) to a skirmish/multiplayer mode reusing the maps from the campaign with randomized enemy spawns.
Fluff-wise, he's not wrong that BattleMechs were extremely valuable by 3015. But his point is so off-base it might as well be vacating in Tijuana. My problem with MW5 in that sense is the sheer amount of LosTech you get access to just wandering around as a merc.
I don't know the physical damage, but from what was said it was the cleanest game they ever played so I'm guessing the team came out relatively intact.
That merely means the rules were followed. Doesn't change the fact physics is physics.

Sheliak, December 3051, final result CGB 68th Strikers 84-3 Sheliak All-Stars. Press F to pay respects to all the Sheliak players likely turned into greasy stains on the grass during the game.
Incidentally I checked Warriors of Kerensky for the various Clan-favourite sports. The Steel Vipers, the Ice Hellions and the Star Adders favour rugby, although I'm amazed the Hellions don't play ice hockey over rugger so they can live up to their gottagofast rep. The Ghost Bears, the Hell's Horses and the Smoke Jaguars like American football, and somewhat frustratingly the Association football players are not listed. I'm certain the Jade Falcons are one, though, so they can call for a Trial of Grievance every time the linesman calls an offside or the ref gives a Falcon a yellow card for a foul tackle. The Wolves, the Fire Mandrills and the Coyotes play lacrosse, which I've never understood (neither why or the actual sport.)
Excessive force would have been flagged if they where severely injuring the players to the point where they couldn't play anymore.
There is a short story on the whole game I've been trying to find.
IDK, I'm not stumbling upon hordes of pulse lasers, ER lasers and double hink sinks its been very rare for me to find any and the stuff I have don't last that long due to combat reasons.
