Frankly, I would unironically watch a show where we have Jacob as a Commissioner Gordon analogue to Batwing's Batman.
The only two actors worth a damn in this entire show... well... this might be an unpopular opinion, but the chick that plays Alice is one of the better actors in this show, too, I'd say.
I mean, the script is terrible and the direction is even worse, but at least she plays that shitty character with personality (grating as it might be). She's trying. The chick that plays Sophie is just bland as fuck and I can't help but think of the black female wojack meme whenever I see her.

I don't watch this, just the JLongbone recaps (she is a national treasure) and I am playing catch up but... they dragged poor Stephanie Brown into this? She's my favourite Batgirl, she's great. What kind of a mess are they making with her in this show? Does she at least get to eat some waffles? And how did they screw up her father so badly? Cluemaster is supposed to be a third-tier crook who attempts to copy Riddler's schtick knock-off. He's not a joke character - he can be nasty. But Riddler material he is not. But from what I saw that's what they try to make him.

Looking at the writers for the episodes of season 2 those are universally the whitest motherfuckers in existence and it seems their opinion on black folks is worse than any KKK member (like we shouldn't expect black people to interact with police like human beings).

Sure and I got that reference, but this isn't some self-aware Joss Whedon flick and the more annoying aspect of it is our supposed super hero ignoring a major threat to her city cause it's icky to deal with it... and she plays it off with a lame pop-culture joke.

Kate was a bitch that literally said she'd be better at protecting the city than Batman while letting a mass murderer run free at every chance she got. Now we have Ryan telling the city and its population to fuck off cause hurr-durr tv tropes.

Not sure I should admit this, but Wallis Day has been on the last several episodes and is playing Kate Kane(due to a fire when her plane crashed+a new face). Not sure yet if she's going to be the new-old batwoman or a co-batwoman or if she's just going to fly off.

If this Day woman stays on and they keep Kate on the show, then what was the point of introducing Ryan, like just do what soap operas do and pretend like nothing happened when they replace actors. I think there's even an article that says the show was going to do that, but Berlanti convinced Dries to introduce a new character, but the first few episodes of season 2 suffer from having to introduce a new central character to an establish cast, which knee caps the season from the start, between this and that PPG script is everyone at the CW a functional retard?

Ironically enough, Luke’s actor is actually in really good shape. You’d never know it based on how the character is written, of course, but there was one episode where they went to an alternate universe during a crossover thing and they show you what he looks like.

The show is still having everyone act like there can't be multiple Batwoman. Fucking hell, you're a super hero show, SIDE KICKS ARE THE NAME OF THE GAME!

The show really wants you to care about Alice mourning her dead fuckbuddy, so much so that the montage of their time together is literally less than a minute long.

Black Mask recruits ex-crows, including Tavaroth and captures Ryan.

Gotta love how Ryan doesn't attempt to understand Black Mask until he has her at his mercy. It's almost like these Batman-wannabe's don't know how to extend compassion unless it's convenient for them.

For a series complaining about false evidence and corrupt cops, it sure relies a lot on the good guys just believing emotional pleases and trusting each other just cus. Oh, there's evidence Ryan's selling drugs? Nah, she's been set up, she said so!

Then again, with Alice expecting Kate to psychically know that she was in the Cartwright basement, Ryan just knowing Luke was innocent and Jacob being shamed for not just sensing that Tavaroth was corrupt, this show seems to have the idea that we can just inherently sense if someone's a good person deep down or not.

Sofiyah throws away Alice's knife. That's like, 50% of her character, man!

And she reveals her master villain plan, she has Brainwashed Kate go into the Batcave, retrieve Poison Ivy's plant stored there... And make more of the Desert Rose with it. Oh no?

Alice then hugs Sofiyah and stabs the Al'Ghul tier master assassin in the back with the 'Puts you into a coma until I take it out' dagger. Because it doesn't matter how skilled you are, in Batwoman you'll still be killed like a basic bitch.

Oh yeah, Brainwashed Kate kicks Ryan's ass and makes off with all the shit she needs; and just to make extra sure we know she's crazy, she draws a crack over the Bat symbol.

We have two episodes left of this season.

That last part is pretty simple:
Is someone white? Male? Heterosexual? If the answer to all of that is yes, just assume they are a terrible person that should #SHUTUPANDLISTEN.
If the person is any kind of minority (imagined or otherwise), they are pure angels and all they speak is gospel. Anyone should just #TRUSTTHEM.
White chicks like Alice might be baddies, but they are forced to be that way due to society and not to blame, show some #EMPATHY.

Well, Black Mask has a speech about how society at every turn just wants to stop them from doing their jobs while propping up an unethical and self-righteous vigilante who makes having laws and due process pointless; average 'fight the power'-esc stuff to convince them to join him. I'm assuming it's all only the corrupt Crows, even Tavaroth is there, even though he's out on bail awaiting trial for attempted murder. And judging by the promo for the next episode, he's going to get juiced up on Venom.

Though, considering that Black Mask basically owns the police already... Why does he need the Crows?
