This movie seems to be bringing hatred and salt from both liberals and conservatives. Let's point them out.

I love these assholes that keep saying Disney could get away with anything they want because they're so big. It's pretty basic cause and effect, but it goes miles over their heads. Disney is huge BECAUSE they don't try to get away with shit and give the mainstream audience exactly what they want. If Disney's next major release was called "Eat Shit Little Girls" about was about mickey mouse coming out as a pedophile, they wouldn't be somehow swaying audiences and introducing dangerous new ideologies in the public sector, they'd get fucking reamed.
I like that fleshing out a side character, and not, you know, featuring a homosexual relationship as the central premise of a movie is considered Disney going "full gay".
Also, to argue the other end of the outrage spectrum, the character in question is clearly supposed to be endearing to the audience. He's the one who sings most of the jaunty number about the villain and is played up for comic relief. There's nothing, aside from his actual affiliation with the villain, about the character that makes him inherently unlikeable. If Disney had wanted to make a statement against homosexuality, they would have used a less appealing character.

On a serious note,Lefou was pretty much gay on the original,but nobody gave a shit since the character was a cartoon and had crooked teeth,most cartoon characters had gay moments just for laughs on the past decades and nobody gave a shit.
Look for bugs bunny/Woody woodpecker for example,they probally already inserted the whole LGBT alphabet on their butthole and nobody gave a shit,they do this justfor laughs and never had any kind of impact from society,but if somehow said characters used a sign with "FULL HOMO" while playing these scenes,them that would be outrageous by society standards.

LeFou was already gay for Gaston in the original. I mean, he fucking sings a song IN PRAISE of the guy to cheer him up after he's rejected by Belle.

The character in question was already licking Gaston's ballsack at every turn in the original, like there's forcing gay onto characters for no reason like some fujoshi tumblrite and then there's ones where it actually makes sense to do so. I mean, Hollywood is all progressive and shit so if they really want to push this envelope at least make it somewhat tasteful instead of blatant pandering for people to flick their beans to. I guess fujos only like fags when they pander to their very specific personal taste, how progressive and not masturbatory at all!

How come Tumblr reees every time a gay character in media in portrayed as something other than a infallible Mary Sue? If gay characters were always portrayed as comic reliefs, that would be one thing but they're not. At least not anymore. Isn't the point of "representation" is portraying these characters as different? Not all gay characters have to be the same and it they were, it would be boring and evolve into a stereotype. Plus like everyone has said alread, LeFou was already kinda gay for Gaston in the original movie, so him making him officially gay in this really doesn't change the story one bit.
