There's actually a few different subspecies of SJW on Tumblr and Twitter, some worse than others. Here's a guide on them. See if you can spot different subspecies of them in the wild!
TYPE 1: Cultural Hegemonist

I covered this earlier. These are where the central "soul" of the SJWs lie. They are a longstanding tradition, they've been around for generations, and though it's easy to blame locations or political ideology for their origins, that isn't the case. Make no mistake: These people are nonpartisan, and they trend left because it's convenient, nothing more. For these people, everything they do is about leaving their own personal stamp on the greater whole of the world itself. As such, they attach to any cause they feel is useful - not out of a desire to help, but out of a desire to have control over what is and isn't culture. Many of these people are older, and almost invariably, quite wealthy as a rule. Thus, their goal is not personal enrichment, but rather to have control they do not currently possess, a desire to be able to say what is and isn't cultural or artistic. Their activism is solely a bid at greater power and influence.
Cultural Hegemonists are often defined by their massive egos. They will claim they are wholly deserving of accolades and influence, but often they've accomplished little of actual note and almost always are raging weals of inadequacy right below the surface. Ironically, despite the species with the most overall influence, many of them are completely incapable of defending themselves in anything remotely resembling a fair fight in the public arena. Some, like Anita Sarkeesian and Coraline Ada, go to ridiculous degrees to avoid any attempt to debate them and will go to great lengths to silence critics. The ones who do make public showings, like Brianna Wu, are often completely inept and wind up falling apart the second anyone goes off-script.
The very nature of the Type 1s means that they are inevitably incapable of ever ceding their position to common sense - their egos will not allow them. If they have to drag everyone else into the abyss with them, so be it. Almost without exception, they are incapable of the sort of empathy necessary to genuinely devote themselves to something. It's a cynical ploy to pay lip-service, and nothing more.
TYPE 2: Cult Leader

These are the primary attack-line SJWs. They may believe in a given cause, and do so legitimately, but they've adopted the tactics of type 1 and the same cynical manipulation techniques. For these people, the goal is less leaving their stamp on society as it is personal control of others. To this end, this sub-type of SJW will either form a group or join an existing one and claw his/her way to the top of it, so as to gain a position of authority. Once insulated in this leadership position, this manipulator begins to control as many aspects of his followers' lives as possible. Most Type 2s prefer to remain in the background as much as possible - even ones with a big public presence like Vade tend to keep it subdued.
The comparatively small numbers involved in an SJW cult of personality means that this subtype of SJW has tighter control of their followers than the Type 1's can claim to have, which in no small part is why Type 2s are found working for Type 1s, Type 4s, or the rare Type 5. Their followers obey their commands, which they find extremely satisfying. However, once they've indulged their initial rush, they typically quickly grow bored. As such, they start flexing their muscle, ordering around followers for the sake of ordering them around and slaking their own need for obedience. The one saving grace of the Type 2 is that they fear exposure; they prefer to operate quietly and in echo chambers. Sometimes, rarely, a Type 2 (or their minions) realizes they've been used and wakes up. If and when this happens, they're often targetted by their former associates with unusual fervor. Other times, new information forces them to contextualize, and they can sometimes become better people for it. It all depends on whether or not their own vices gert the better of them.
One of the more humorous tendencies of Type 2s is that they are often, due to their reliance on their cult for their main offense, laughably inept at actual internet combat. While very good at applying pressure to a single isolated target, they are fundamentally powerless if the intended victim weathers the storm, and if the Type 2 can be lured off of a platform they're used to, they will, more often than not, get absolutely torn to pieces. While some Type 2s are quite skilled in the arena of Internet War, the majority of them are hilariously bad enough for it to be an observable trend. The smarter ones will go out of their way to avoid any combat where they don't have the home-field advantage.
Note that not all Type 2s are successful. For every Type 2 that successfully insulates itself in a cult of personality, there's a hundred failures who were neither charistmatic, intelligent, or skilled enough to pull it off. Many times, an aspiring Type 2 only blossoms into a full-blown Type 2 due to the involvement of another Social Justice Warrior who helps give them clout in their formative years, as happened with Vade. Other times, they are in a doomed pursuit of power, always demanding more than their limited circle can provide and damned to never extend beyond it, like Nora Reed.
TYPE 3: Extremist

One would be hard-pressed to find a more hated example of Social Justice ideology than the Type 3.
They are often deluded, angry, and with visible emotional problems. But that's not how they see themselves.
The Type 3 is an SJW with dedication. She considers herself one of the faithful and loyal who have never questioned the righteousness of the cause. She sees herself as a champion of all that is good and right, seeking out and punishing the wicked and those who have offended her morality, often at the behest of others above her. Others loyal to the cause view her as an ugly necessity - a hero who "gets shit done" through threats and intimidation. There is rarely, however, anything admirable about the Type 3 under the surface; they are the sorts who become convinced that their opponents are ultimately less than human and frequently will justify their offensives using that very paradigm.
Type 3s are virtually never leaders - instead, they serve as the dedicated attack-dogs of more influential breeds. Their very tendency to engage in ideological extremism turns away all but the most desperate and hateful of online activists, and this means they are very rarely in any position of authority. The so-called Stochastic Terrorists of the Social Justice Warriors, the Type 3s cheerfully attack the targets of their patrons' ire, and at the same time, grant them plausible deniability when the Type 3s go off the rails, as happened with Geordie Tait. When this happens, they'll be disavowed - not because the Type 3 said or did anything their masters disagreed with, but because they did something that was impossible to spin as a positive or inadvertently tipped their hand as to what the real problem was in ways even the Normies could understand.
Type 3s are often completely unrepentant, and many are irredeemable - but not all are. Some can realize the weight of what they've done and come around. Others, tragically, are not willing participants. Many are lied into it, or intentionally misled by other Types. Probably one of the most infamous examples of this in action was a young girl during Gamergate, who was told that in order to be a good feminist, she had to attack and dox some GG rando.
TYPE 4: Profiteer

This is it: The most dangerous, aggressive, and duplicitous of all SJW breeds. The Type 1 may ultimately have more ideological clout, and the Type 2 may have more direct control over her followers, but the Type 4 is a different beast entirely. While the Type 4 often has additional agendas to push - they may be a true believer in the cause under it all, or they may just be cynically repeating the mantra in order to fit in, the unifying trait of this species is that they're here primarily for the money and influence. This is a contrast to the Type 1s, who are in it mostly for their own egos and power, or the Type 2s, who are in it for the personal gratification, though there is certainly overlap. It's the ways they differ from the Type 2, however, that hallmark this species and establish why they are so dangerous.

The Type 4 often only directly influences a relatively small number of people compared to the Type 2, but has chosen them specifically because they're either useful somehow or because they have a position of authority that the Type 4 can exploit. The Type 4 influences these people, and through them, influences many others down the line - the Spider at the center of the web. Multiple Type 4s can even operate together in concert in this fashion, but they tend to fall apart quite often; the victim market is a capitalist market, after all. Type 4s also differ in that they tend to use people's own fears and desires against them, rather than using sheer force of will or charisma like a Type 2. They can often can wield absolutely ridiculous amounts of authority indirectly; at the height of her own influence, for example, Zoe Quinn was able to get basically every social media platform and also 4chan to completely redact coverage of her sexual indiscretions. More alarmingly, many of the people the Type 4 influences don't even realize the level of control they've given her; many believe at all times that the ideas are entirely their own.
Like the Type 2, the Type 4 has a bad tendency to flex her muscle in order to show off, and her doing this is often the first opportunity for the Normies to get a grasp of what she's actually like. Unlike the Type 2, however, the Type 4 also enjoys indirect control of others who in turn are under the thumb of her pawns. She will almost invariably use her influence to strike out at anyone who begins to see what she is, or who might have dirt on her; because of this, those who dare run afoul of her are often attacked by a much larger group than they would had they run afoul of a Type 1 or 2. What makes this breed especially dangerous to Normies, however, is that it thrives in areas where power is abundant. The Type 4 is thus more likely, for example, to try to involve herself with the politics of a large community than she is of a small one. Her main skills are deception and diplomacy (of a sort) rather than anything else. Because the Type 4 has very powerful people connected to, she can easily manipulate people into covering her ass. If she's close to discovery, for example, she is not above organizing an online lynchmob to create a timely diversion, relying on the power of her pawns to keep her safely ensconced within the halls of power.
Thankfully, the Type 4 suffers a critical vulnerability: She seeks ever-increasing control but cannot expose herself to the risk of an outright hostile takeover without taking massive public backlash - and her own influence only can stretch so far. Because of this, she'll rarely put herself on the line, and it will almost without exception come out that she is wholly unconcerned with anyone she manipulates. When this happens, her pawns tend to desert or even defect. However, even with this happening, one will find her former associates loath to turn against her; they know better than anyone that anyone who dares try to expose her will be savaged with all the connections Type 4 can muster. Eventually, most Type 4s fall from grace not because of anything specific they did wrong, but because the pawns they relied upon to get them power in the first place have subsequently lost it, and the long trail of wreckage a Type 4 tends to leave in her wake when the fallout hits means that she often can never fully recover said influence.
TYPE 5: Utopian and Superior Futurist

This individual is a rarity amongst SJWs in that they genuinely give a shit and are usually quite well-informed. Of all the various SJWs, this is the breed, other than the Type 6, most willing to have discourse insofar as an SJW is concerned, and they move accordingly. However, their goal is still traditionally what we consider to be oppressive; rather like Oscar Wilde once said, these people want a Tyranny for the benefit of all involved. They may hate what they do, but they see it as an unpleasant necessity to achieve their idealized world. The fact that they are capable of realizing their own flaws in their own ideology means they can often have completely rational conversations about it - rarity among Social Justice Warriors. Because they own their failings, they will often become a target for more extreme SJW breeds, as happened with Lacy Green when she dared call out the "trans kids" phenomenon for what it was.
However, the Utopian is inexorably tied to a related subspecies that lacks its counterpart's intelligence or capacity for empathy - a subspecies I will henceforth call the Superior Futurist. This particular version of the Utopian is the sort that has a moral belief that they are better than those around them, and hold everyone who believes even tangentially differently than them in sneering fucking comempt. They will argue, unironically, that those who do not meet their vigorous (and often ever-changing) social standard must be purged: first from Social Media, then the internet, then society, and finally, life entirely. They may talk openly about how they'd love to engage in eugenics with a lack of self-awareness that would get a Type 3 to tell them to tone shit down. Very often, the kind of people who argue for such policies are the very same people who would be lined up against the wall the second the glorious revolution they've been clamoring for happened, adding further surreality to this breed.
TYPE 6: Cannon Fodder
These people are not given this title out of lack of respect from me, but rather how the other types see them.
They are useful idiots, asses to fill seats, people to act as placeholders, sheep to be fleeced and patreon clients to be milked. They are expendable assets, in the eyes of the above. They have no real authority - they're one screaming voice in the echo-chamber, individually meaningless but when paired with others they form the bulk of a SocJus offensive.
These are the SJWs most-likely to "wake up" eventually to bullshit, since they have the least personal investment and are the ones with the least vested interest in remaining exploited, but they can be surprisingly recalcitrant.
TYPE 7: Token Males

These are the saddest component of the SJW group: the males of the movement who are solely there as part of their sole breeding strategy. By far, the lowest of the low, they are surprisingly vehement in their offensives, mostly because this is their sole recourse of getting someone tofuck date. They're constantly having to push the envelope to prove themselves to their so-called SJW overlords, and are invariably attached to one of the other types.
Traditionally, this is a Type 4, 5, or 6, but type 1s and 2s aren't unheard of. Note that they don't actually have to be successful at it - just so long as they're willing white knights who are willing to do the same kind of bullshit the Type 6s are. The worst of the lot are the ones like Todd in the Shadows or Dan Olson, which blend shades of Type 1 and 3 with the Type 7 archetype.
The smarter ones will leave the nanosecond they realize they can do better.
Type 8: Harridan (Thanks @Yaoi Huntress Earth)

The Harridan is the shrieking, angry, hate-filled counterpart of the Type 3. Like the Extremist, the Harridan is a useful idiot who is there to do the bidding of almighty SocJus and won't think twice about savaging her allies for being backsliders. The difference between the Type 3 and Type 8 is a matter of approach; Harridans always move with a flock of other SJWs - traditionally, other Type 8s. A flock hunter, this beast thrives on raw aggression, unchecked and unfocused - a pebble in an avalanche. Type 3s, traditionally, are lone wolves. They may say what many SJWs deep down really think, but they are usually self-aware enough to know they don't control narrative outside the hugbox. The Type 8, contrastingly, simply doesn't care, and is so aggressive and hostile that they will engage in any area with every ounce of bile they can muster.
Correspondingly, Type 8s are virtually harmless alone - but they become devastating in groups, as they become more and more aggressive and direct the more their numbers wax. Essentially bringing their Echo Chamber with them, they descend upon something they wish to co-opt, and, through the tactics of a lynchmob, take it over. Any opposition, be it Law Enforcement, simple physical barriers, or other attendees, will be treated as an accomplice to the target's crimes and treated as such. Siezing the mic and dominating the discussion is the objective, and fuck anyone who gets in the way.
The Harridan's tactics vary, but will always focus on stealing away attention; they will do so in every fashion from simply making asses of themselves for attention en masse, to getting literally into people's face and screaming, humiliating their hated targets in public events. The law and the target's possible innocence are irrelevant to the Harriden; to her, there is no justice like angry mob justice. Fittingly, as is the case for most SJWs, they will claim oppression if in any way opposed.
TYPE 9: Self-Redemptionists (Thanks @Yaoi Huntress Earth)

When we covered the male feminists in the Type 7s, we really only covered the surface, because there is a darker and far sadder aspect to them. That aspect is the Type 9, a subset of male feminist that has a very personal, often depressing, reason for backing Feminism - that they hate themselves for their misdeeds - be they real or be they imagined. This particular category is broad-reaching, with far more implications than many others on this list, and as such, a general breakdown is required.
The Self-Redemptionist is in this movement out of either penance, a desire to bury their own sins, or out of being so ground down by other SJWs that they have lost the will and capacity to maintain their own agency. Amon Ra, of Atheism+ fame, is a centerpiece of the first, wherein he seeks to push Feminism out of a genuine belief that he's done wrong by being "problematic" in the past, being guilty of wrongthink. Others, far more tragically, are simply there by virtue of not having the strength to fight any longer; Steve Shives, once a respected member of the Atheism community, became a full-fledged SJW due to his wife essentially emotionally abusing him, to the point where he can't even enjoy things without them being dubbed microaggressions by his wife. In many cases, these people have been so abused that they apologize openly for things they have not done and so as to be free of the stigma of being "problematic," they now serve the rest of the movement.
But this is not the case for all of them, and by far the most horrid and dangerous versions of this subspecies are the ones who've actually done things wrong - to the point of extensive and disturbing criminal records. Perhaps there is no better example of this particular sub-type than HannibalTheVictor13, a notoriously aggressive SJW who repeatedly threatened Thunderf00t's life for criticizing Anita Sarkeesian, and, fittingly enough, is a convicted sex offender and abuser. He's far from the only example of this, and you can effectively make a rule of logic that the more aggressive the male feminist, the more likely it is that they are secretly harboring a past that they are in no way proud of.
In all cases, this category of SJW fights for their conscience, or because they believe their conscience mandates it. All-too-often,this means that to mitigate their sins - real and imagined - and to simply appease those that they care about, they have become a sad shell of the people they once were, now serving only as one more vector of attack.
TYPE 10: Movement Egomaniac (Thanks again, @Yaoi Huntress Earth)

For every Social Justice Warrior who is in it as part of an ideological agenda, for personal enrichment, or because they were misled into it, there is one solely there for their own ego. By far one of the most loathsome examples of Social Justice, the Movement Egomaniac is solely there to indulge themselves at others' expense. They differ from the Type 1s and 2s in that they do not enter Social Justice with the intent of fostering their ideals in the greater world or to establish a cult of personality; they are in it for the power trip as an end in and of itself. They'll argue otherwise, of course, but the truth is unavoidable.
They have some overlap with the Type 8 and Type 3, but they aren't about the broader objective; for them, being a pain in everyone's ass is the objective, and the media attention they get (and subsequent coverage on Social Media) is their raison d'etre. The rare case of a Social Justice Warrior that even type 1s, 2s, and 4, noted for their scummier behavior, can claim moral superiority to, because those at least pretend to give a shit about what they espouse. This said, they're also hilariously quick to become unhinged if they encounter a target they can't really effect, and have a shockingly high self-destruction rate.
The Movement Egomaniac is in it solely for the quick reaction. They don't want opponents who can effectively fight back and they don't want the ability for a confrontation to be able to turn against them, so they generally lack bite against their targets, doing little more than exploratory prods in an attempt to provoke a reaction - either by the target (who they will then demonize), or more commonly by other Social Justice Warriors, (especially the Type 8s) who they will then use for pressuring purposes. If successful, they'll ride the controversy with smug self-satisfaction about how they did good whilst everyone else sees them as a boil on the ass of discourse. Thankfully, as a whole, Movement Egomaniacs are, like most bullies, quick to run away if confronted, and notoriously have glass jaws; probably the best example of these is Jerelyn Luther's infamous ragequit. Their ego provides the key to defeating them in battle; they can't tolerate indifference, so if their thrusts are simply ignored they will rage, accuse, condemn, plead, and finally, fuck off.
TYPE 11: Moral Justice Warrior

This breed is an anomaly; technically is not a Social Justice Warrior at all, but in fact a related species that exists due to a sort of Batesian mimicry within the Social Justice sphere. The Moral Justice Warrior I first encountered doing research for a fellow Kiwi, and it was such a unique and fascinating species that it practically necessitated its coverage here. Perhaps more interestingly, it's not a new species at all - it's one that several older Kiwis will readily remember from the 80s and 90s, and which mostly died out when the world moved on, yet somehow, has managed to persist and even thrive in an entirely new environment - an invasive species whose predations mostly went unnoticed within the ecosystems of Tumblr, beneath the notice of most.
Moral Justice Warriors flat-out do not care about Social Justice in the slightest, but are absolutely willing to piggyback onto their causes for their own ends and own objectives. At a cursory glance, their mimicry is extremely hard to spot because they tend to couch their arguments in the exact same language and go after the exact same targets, using the same behavior. It's only on a closer examination that you start to notice the differences, and it's those differences that define this type. To surmise the major differences, let's start with a scenario of moral outrage, such as a girl with big boobs in a video game:

A Social Justice Warrior who hates the above will try to argue from a standpoint of intersectionalism and inclusion. They will argue that the character in question is offensive because no woman would dress like that when fighting, or that a build like hers is completely unrealistic. They will cheerfully ignore that there are people who actually have builds like this, that there are people who fight that have builds and outfits like that, and will ignore any in-game context that exists. They will ignore historical accuracy (when available), authorial intent, and even simple character-based reasons. If all their other arguments are shrugged off, they'll eventually sperg about "male gaze" and complain how it's specifically designed to appeal to men (even if the character was created by a woman and is a female power fantasy).
A Moral Justice Warrior who hates this character will instead argue from the standpoint of traditionalism. They will argue that the character in question is offensive because she has big tits and dresses provocatively, even if they had no choice in the latter reason and the former in no way impacts who they are as a person. They will instead imply that the character is morally deficient, based on their appearance. If such a character is in a work they otherwise enjoy, they will argue unironically that the character deserves to suffer based on their appearance and snap-judgment of their character therefrom, even if other aspects of their character completely contradict their viewpoint. What's very interesting about this is that it's not limited to mere appearances. Moral Justice Warriors will often take a very negative view of characters that are promiscuous, abuse drugs, or are abusive parents.
Interestingly, Moral Justice Warriors may be religious, but very often aren't, just strongly in support of traditionalism. One might think that this would make them a natural enemy of the SJWs, but in practice, they often exist in the same social circles for protracted periods of time with little or even no conflict. Why this happens is because at the core of it, MJWs often hate the same things as SJWs, and may lend weight of numbers to an offensive. MJWs aren't anywhere near as numerous as SJWs, so it often behooves them to play things coy - at least until the MJW objects to something the SJW doesn't, or vice-versa. When these happens, some amazing circular firing squad behavior tends to happen, and the very nature of their beliefs means the MJWis often driven out - unless they claim to be Muslims, in which case they can sometimes get away with some minor mutinies.
Critical Closing Notes: Under no circumstances, make the mistake of thinking that the SJWs are all inherently corrupt, stupid, or zealous. Yes - a great number of their leadership are, but that doesn't mean that there's not a lot of people who aren't genuinely wanting to help, to be useful or to help contribute to something greater. Being an SJW is not a sign of lower intellect; they have often people who are otherwise completely rational and have become convinced they are doing the right thing, misled by the corrupt and the power-hungry, who hope to exploit their hard work and sacrifice.

While some Type 2s are quite skilled in the arena of Internet War, the majority of them are hilariously bad enough for it to be an observable trend. The smarter ones will go out of their way to avoid any combat where they don't have the home-field advantage.
Note that not all Type 2s are successful. For every Type 2 that successfully insulates itself in a cult of personality, there's a hundred failures who were neither charistmatic, intelligent, or skilled enough to pull it off. Many times, an aspiring Type 2 only blossoms into a full-blown Type 2 due to the involvement of another Social Justice Warrior who helps give them clout in their formative years, as happened with Vade. Other times, they are in a doomed pursuit of power, always demanding more than their limited circle can provide and damned to never extend beyond it, like Nora Reed.
TYPE 3: Extremist

One would be hard-pressed to find a more hated example of Social Justice ideology than the Type 3.
They are often deluded, angry, and with visible emotional problems. But that's not how they see themselves.
The Type 3 is an SJW with dedication. She considers herself one of the faithful and loyal who have never questioned the righteousness of the cause. She sees herself as a champion of all that is good and right, seeking out and punishing the wicked and those who have offended her morality, often at the behest of others above her. Others loyal to the cause view her as an ugly necessity - a hero who "gets shit done" through threats and intimidation. There is rarely, however, anything admirable about the Type 3 under the surface; they are the sorts who become convinced that their opponents are ultimately less than human and frequently will justify their offensives using that very paradigm.
Type 3s are virtually never leaders - instead, they serve as the dedicated attack-dogs of more influential breeds. Their very tendency to engage in ideological extremism turns away all but the most desperate and hateful of online activists, and this means they are very rarely in any position of authority. The so-called Stochastic Terrorists of the Social Justice Warriors, the Type 3s cheerfully attack the targets of their patrons' ire, and at the same time, grant them plausible deniability when the Type 3s go off the rails, as happened with Geordie Tait. When this happens, they'll be disavowed - not because the Type 3 said or did anything their masters disagreed with, but because they did something that was impossible to spin as a positive or inadvertently tipped their hand as to what the real problem was in ways even the Normies could understand.
Type 3s are often completely unrepentant, and many are irredeemable - but not all are. Some can realize the weight of what they've done and come around. Others, tragically, are not willing participants. Many are lied into it, or intentionally misled by other Types. Probably one of the most infamous examples of this in action was a young girl during Gamergate, who was told that in order to be a good feminist, she had to attack and dox some GG rando.
TYPE 4: Profiteer

This is it: The most dangerous, aggressive, and duplicitous of all SJW breeds. The Type 1 may ultimately have more ideological clout, and the Type 2 may have more direct control over her followers, but the Type 4 is a different beast entirely. While the Type 4 often has additional agendas to push - they may be a true believer in the cause under it all, or they may just be cynically repeating the mantra in order to fit in, the unifying trait of this species is that they're here primarily for the money and influence. This is a contrast to the Type 1s, who are in it mostly for their own egos and power, or the Type 2s, who are in it for the personal gratification, though there is certainly overlap. It's the ways they differ from the Type 2, however, that hallmark this species and establish why they are so dangerous.
Whereas the Type 2 prefers to remain in the shadows, the Type 4 survives and even thrives in public. The Type 4 often only directly influences a relatively small number of people compared to the Type 2, but has chosen them specifically because they're either useful somehow or because they have a position of authority that the Type 4 can exploit. The Type 4 influences these people, and through them, influences many others down the line - the Spider at the center of the web. Multiple Type 4s can even operate together in concert in this fashion, but they tend to fall apart quite often; the victim market is a capitalist market, after all. Type 4s also differ in that they tend to use people's own fears and desires against them, rather than using sheer force of will or charisma like a Type 2. They can often can wield absolutely ridiculous amounts of authority indirectly; at the height of her own influence, for example, Zoe Quinn was able to get basically every social media platform and also 4chan to completely redact coverage of her sexual indiscretions. More alarmingly, many of the people the Type 4 influences don't even realize the level of control they've given her; many believe at all times that the ideas are entirely their own.
Like the Type 2, the Type 4 has a bad tendency to flex her muscle in order to show off, and her doing this is often the first opportunity for the Normies to get a grasp of what she's actually like. Unlike the Type 2, however, the Type 4 also enjoys indirect control of others who in turn are under the thumb of her pawns. She will almost invariably use her influence to strike out at anyone who begins to see what she is, or who might have dirt on her; because of this, those who dare run afoul of her are often attacked by a much larger group than they would had they run afoul of a Type 1 or 2. What makes this breed especially dangerous to Normies, however, is that it thrives in areas where power is abundant. The Type 4 is thus more likely, for example, to try to involve herself with the politics of a large community than she is of a small one. Her main skills are deception and diplomacy (of a sort) rather than anything else. Because the Type 4 has very powerful people connected to, she can easily manipulate people into covering her ass. If she's close to discovery, for example, she is not above organizing an online lynchmob to create a timely diversion, relying on the power of her pawns to keep her safely ensconced within the halls of power.
Thankfully, the Type 4 suffers a critical vulnerability: She seeks ever-increasing control but cannot expose herself to the risk of an outright hostile takeover without taking massive public backlash - and her own influence only can stretch so far. Because of this, she'll rarely put herself on the line, and it will almost without exception come out that she is wholly unconcerned with anyone she manipulates. When this happens, her pawns tend to desert or even defect. However, even with this happening, one will find her former associates loath to turn against her; they know better than anyone that anyone who dares try to expose her will be savaged with all the connections Type 4 can muster. Eventually, most Type 4s fall from grace not because of anything specific they did wrong, but because the pawns they relied upon to get them power in the first place have subsequently lost it, and the long trail of wreckage a Type 4 tends to leave in her wake when the fallout hits means that she often can never fully recover said influence.
TYPE 5: Utopian and Superior Futurist

This individual is a rarity amongst SJWs in that they genuinely give a shit and are usually quite well-informed. Of all the various SJWs, this is the breed, other than the Type 6, most willing to have discourse insofar as an SJW is concerned, and they move accordingly. However, their goal is still traditionally what we consider to be oppressive; rather like Oscar Wilde once said, these people want a Tyranny for the benefit of all involved. They may hate what they do, but they see it as an unpleasant necessity to achieve their idealized world. The fact that they are capable of realizing their own flaws in their own ideology means they can often have completely rational conversations about it - rarity among Social Justice Warriors. Because they own their failings, they will often become a target for more extreme SJW breeds, as happened with Lacy Green when she dared call out the "trans kids" phenomenon for what it was.
However, the Utopian is inexorably tied to a related subspecies that lacks its counterpart's intelligence or capacity for empathy - a subspecies I will henceforth call the Superior Futurist. This particular version of the Utopian is the sort that has a moral belief that they are better than those around them, and hold everyone who believes even tangentially differently than them in sneering fucking comempt. They will argue, unironically, that those who do not meet their vigorous (and often ever-changing) social standard must be purged: first from Social Media, then the internet, then society, and finally, life entirely. They may talk openly about how they'd love to engage in eugenics with a lack of self-awareness that would get a Type 3 to tell them to tone shit down. Very often, the kind of people who argue for such policies are the very same people who would be lined up against the wall the second the glorious revolution they've been clamoring for happened, adding further surreality to this breed.
TYPE 6: Cannon Fodder

They are useful idiots, asses to fill seats, people to act as placeholders, sheep to be fleeced and patreon clients to be milked. They are expendable assets, in the eyes of the above. They have no real authority - they're one screaming voice in the echo-chamber, individually meaningless but when paired with others they form the bulk of a SocJus offensive.
These are the SJWs most-likely to "wake up" eventually to bullshit, since they have the least personal investment and are the ones with the least vested interest in remaining exploited, but they can be surprisingly recalcitrant.
TYPE 7: Token Males

Traditionally, this is a Type 4, 5, or 6, but type 1s and 2s aren't unheard of. Note that they don't actually have to be successful at it - just so long as they're willing white knights who are willing to do the same kind of bullshit the Type 6s are. The worst of the lot are the ones like Todd in the Shadows or Dan Olson, which blend shades of Type 1 and 3 with the Type 7 archetype.
The smarter ones will leave the nanosecond they realize they can do better.

The Harridan is the shrieking, angry, hate-filled counterpart of the Type 3. Like the Extremist, the Harridan is a useful idiot who is there to do the bidding of almighty SocJus and won't think twice about savaging her allies for being backsliders. The difference between the Type 3 and Type 8 is a matter of approach; Harridans always move with a flock of other SJWs - traditionally, other Type 8s. A flock hunter, this beast thrives on raw aggression, unchecked and unfocused - a pebble in an avalanche. Type 3s, traditionally, are lone wolves. They may say what many SJWs deep down really think, but they are usually self-aware enough to know they don't control narrative outside the hugbox. The Type 8, contrastingly, simply doesn't care, and is so aggressive and hostile that they will engage in any area with every ounce of bile they can muster.
Correspondingly, Type 8s are virtually harmless alone - but they become devastating in groups, as they become more and more aggressive and direct the more their numbers wax. Essentially bringing their Echo Chamber with them, they descend upon something they wish to co-opt, and, through the tactics of a lynchmob, take it over. Any opposition, be it Law Enforcement, simple physical barriers, or other attendees, will be treated as an accomplice to the target's crimes and treated as such. Siezing the mic and dominating the discussion is the objective, and fuck anyone who gets in the way.
The Harridan's tactics vary, but will always focus on stealing away attention; they will do so in every fashion from simply making asses of themselves for attention en masse, to getting literally into people's face and screaming, humiliating their hated targets in public events. The law and the target's possible innocence are irrelevant to the Harriden; to her, there is no justice like angry mob justice. Fittingly, as is the case for most SJWs, they will claim oppression if in any way opposed.

When we covered the male feminists in the Type 7s, we really only covered the surface, because there is a darker and far sadder aspect to them. That aspect is the Type 9, a subset of male feminist that has a very personal, often depressing, reason for backing Feminism - that they hate themselves for their misdeeds - be they real or be they imagined. This particular category is broad-reaching, with far more implications than many others on this list, and as such, a general breakdown is required.
The Self-Redemptionist is in this movement out of either penance, a desire to bury their own sins, or out of being so ground down by other SJWs that they have lost the will and capacity to maintain their own agency. Amon Ra, of Atheism+ fame, is a centerpiece of the first, wherein he seeks to push Feminism out of a genuine belief that he's done wrong by being "problematic" in the past, being guilty of wrongthink. Others, far more tragically, are simply there by virtue of not having the strength to fight any longer; Steve Shives, once a respected member of the Atheism community, became a full-fledged SJW due to his wife essentially emotionally abusing him, to the point where he can't even enjoy things without them being dubbed microaggressions by his wife. In many cases, these people have been so abused that they apologize openly for things they have not done and so as to be free of the stigma of being "problematic," they now serve the rest of the movement.
But this is not the case for all of them, and by far the most horrid and dangerous versions of this subspecies are the ones who've actually done things wrong - to the point of extensive and disturbing criminal records. Perhaps there is no better example of this particular sub-type than HannibalTheVictor13, a notoriously aggressive SJW who repeatedly threatened Thunderf00t's life for criticizing Anita Sarkeesian, and, fittingly enough, is a convicted sex offender and abuser. He's far from the only example of this, and you can effectively make a rule of logic that the more aggressive the male feminist, the more likely it is that they are secretly harboring a past that they are in no way proud of.
In all cases, this category of SJW fights for their conscience, or because they believe their conscience mandates it. All-too-often,this means that to mitigate their sins - real and imagined - and to simply appease those that they care about, they have become a sad shell of the people they once were, now serving only as one more vector of attack.
TYPE 10: Movement Egomaniac (Thanks again, @Yaoi Huntress Earth)

For every Social Justice Warrior who is in it as part of an ideological agenda, for personal enrichment, or because they were misled into it, there is one solely there for their own ego. By far one of the most loathsome examples of Social Justice, the Movement Egomaniac is solely there to indulge themselves at others' expense. They differ from the Type 1s and 2s in that they do not enter Social Justice with the intent of fostering their ideals in the greater world or to establish a cult of personality; they are in it for the power trip as an end in and of itself. They'll argue otherwise, of course, but the truth is unavoidable.
They have some overlap with the Type 8 and Type 3, but they aren't about the broader objective; for them, being a pain in everyone's ass is the objective, and the media attention they get (and subsequent coverage on Social Media) is their raison d'etre. The rare case of a Social Justice Warrior that even type 1s, 2s, and 4, noted for their scummier behavior, can claim moral superiority to, because those at least pretend to give a shit about what they espouse. This said, they're also hilariously quick to become unhinged if they encounter a target they can't really effect, and have a shockingly high self-destruction rate.
The Movement Egomaniac is in it solely for the quick reaction. They don't want opponents who can effectively fight back and they don't want the ability for a confrontation to be able to turn against them, so they generally lack bite against their targets, doing little more than exploratory prods in an attempt to provoke a reaction - either by the target (who they will then demonize), or more commonly by other Social Justice Warriors, (especially the Type 8s) who they will then use for pressuring purposes. If successful, they'll ride the controversy with smug self-satisfaction about how they did good whilst everyone else sees them as a boil on the ass of discourse. Thankfully, as a whole, Movement Egomaniacs are, like most bullies, quick to run away if confronted, and notoriously have glass jaws; probably the best example of these is Jerelyn Luther's infamous ragequit. Their ego provides the key to defeating them in battle; they can't tolerate indifference, so if their thrusts are simply ignored they will rage, accuse, condemn, plead, and finally, fuck off.
TYPE 11: Moral Justice Warrior

This breed is an anomaly; technically is not a Social Justice Warrior at all, but in fact a related species that exists due to a sort of Batesian mimicry within the Social Justice sphere. The Moral Justice Warrior I first encountered doing research for a fellow Kiwi, and it was such a unique and fascinating species that it practically necessitated its coverage here. Perhaps more interestingly, it's not a new species at all - it's one that several older Kiwis will readily remember from the 80s and 90s, and which mostly died out when the world moved on, yet somehow, has managed to persist and even thrive in an entirely new environment - an invasive species whose predations mostly went unnoticed within the ecosystems of Tumblr, beneath the notice of most.
Moral Justice Warriors flat-out do not care about Social Justice in the slightest, but are absolutely willing to piggyback onto their causes for their own ends and own objectives. At a cursory glance, their mimicry is extremely hard to spot because they tend to couch their arguments in the exact same language and go after the exact same targets, using the same behavior. It's only on a closer examination that you start to notice the differences, and it's those differences that define this type. To surmise the major differences, let's start with a scenario of moral outrage, such as a girl with big boobs in a video game:

A Social Justice Warrior who hates the above will try to argue from a standpoint of intersectionalism and inclusion. They will argue that the character in question is offensive because no woman would dress like that when fighting, or that a build like hers is completely unrealistic. They will cheerfully ignore that there are people who actually have builds like this, that there are people who fight that have builds and outfits like that, and will ignore any in-game context that exists. They will ignore historical accuracy (when available), authorial intent, and even simple character-based reasons. If all their other arguments are shrugged off, they'll eventually sperg about "male gaze" and complain how it's specifically designed to appeal to men (even if the character was created by a woman and is a female power fantasy).
A Moral Justice Warrior who hates this character will instead argue from the standpoint of traditionalism. They will argue that the character in question is offensive because she has big tits and dresses provocatively, even if they had no choice in the latter reason and the former in no way impacts who they are as a person. They will instead imply that the character is morally deficient, based on their appearance. If such a character is in a work they otherwise enjoy, they will argue unironically that the character deserves to suffer based on their appearance and snap-judgment of their character therefrom, even if other aspects of their character completely contradict their viewpoint. What's very interesting about this is that it's not limited to mere appearances. Moral Justice Warriors will often take a very negative view of characters that are promiscuous, abuse drugs, or are abusive parents.
Interestingly, Moral Justice Warriors may be religious, but very often aren't, just strongly in support of traditionalism. One might think that this would make them a natural enemy of the SJWs, but in practice, they often exist in the same social circles for protracted periods of time with little or even no conflict. Why this happens is because at the core of it, MJWs often hate the same things as SJWs, and may lend weight of numbers to an offensive. MJWs aren't anywhere near as numerous as SJWs, so it often behooves them to play things coy - at least until the MJW objects to something the SJW doesn't, or vice-versa. When these happens, some amazing circular firing squad behavior tends to happen, and the very nature of their beliefs means the MJWis often driven out - unless they claim to be Muslims, in which case they can sometimes get away with some minor mutinies.
Critical Closing Notes: Under no circumstances, make the mistake of thinking that the SJWs are all inherently corrupt, stupid, or zealous. Yes - a great number of their leadership are, but that doesn't mean that there's not a lot of people who aren't genuinely wanting to help, to be useful or to help contribute to something greater. Being an SJW is not a sign of lower intellect; they have often people who are otherwise completely rational and have become convinced they are doing the right thing, misled by the corrupt and the power-hungry, who hope to exploit their hard work and sacrifice.
