Making this thread because Beyond a Steel Sky's come out as a Apple Arcade title, and is to come out on Steam for Windows and Linux on the 16th/17th, so basically it'll be on everything except console (although it's being discussed) and Android.

Made by Revolution Software in 1994, Beneath a Steel Sky is a point and click adventure game that was launched for MS-DOS and Amiga computers. Set in a dystopian future, you play as Robert Foster, who gets raised by Aboriginies until the police kill them all and take Foster back to Union City, where he promptly escapes and begins uncovering the corruption.

It received a remastered edition in 2009 for iOS, and is also available for free on GOG, for Windows, Linux and Mac.

In 2012, a sequel was announced as part of a Kickstarter campaign, and was officially announced as Beyond a Steel Sky in March 2019 as one of the titles Apple had funded for the Arcade service, and released on the 26th of June for iOS, tvOS and macOS. As mentioned above, it's due to launch through Steam for Windows and Linux in mid-July.

It's been receiving positive reviews and comments so far.

So, anyone familiar with the series? Welcoming the return of a game that only took 23 years to get a sequel?

Well, they brought back Joey, which is great since he was only uploaded into an android copy, not permanently stuck as Ken the android (tied into the LINC AI which rules the city).

I was lucky enough to be one of the few American kids who grew up on Amiga computers and got to play this on the CD32. I can't wait to play it again.

I got this one for free on GOG for whatever reason years ago. I liked it but it was weird. I should play through it again at some point.

I liked this game a lot back in the day. Fun story, great art, neat puzzles. A damn fine adventure game and I'm looking forward to the sequel.
