Alright Kiwis, what'd you guys think were the highlights and lows of this past year?

Whiplash and Boyhood were the best movies all year. I didn't see too many bad movies so I can't think of much to say for what the worst film was.

Favourite movie (I tend to prefer animated movies :autism: ) :
Lego Movie closely followed by How to Train your Dragon 2

Favourite non animated movie:
Guardians of the Galaxy

Worst movie:
TMNT
I only watched it half way through and it was mostly April O'Neil being boring.

There were other good animated movies this year too though like Book of Life and The Box Trolls also I've not seen Big Hero 6 (It's not even out here in the UK) or Ghibli studios new movie yet either but I'm sure they are good.

I haven't seen that many, but I really liked both GOTG and Big Hero 6. The Woman in Black 2 was pretty disappointing.

TMNT was bad but I knew it was gonna be bad so I can't really call it a disappointment.

I can count the movies I've seen from 2014 on one hand, but whatever.

Best: Raid 2
Worst: Tie between Noah/Scooby Doo and The Wrestlemania Mystery (but I highly recommend watching either one on synchtube with friends, especially if everyone is drunk and/or stoned. It's a hoot).

I enjoyed How to Train Your Dragon 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, Big Hero 6, The Wind Rises, and The Lego Movie.

Yeah, I'm not to big on non superhero and cartoon movies unless it's something that really interests me.

Can't really say what the worst movie was as I usually stay away from those kinds of movies. From what I've heard though, TMNT was awful.

Of the movie's I managed to see:

Best: Lego Movie, Big Hero 6.
Worst: Brick Mansions, Transformers: Age Of Excinction and the AVGN movie.
Ones I could give less than two shits about: The Nut Job, TMNT (footage Ive seen does not look all that good, so I'm probably wise to steer clear from it), Rio 2 and Hercules (that one with The Rock)

Best was obviously Whiplash, that shit kicked my ass so hard I had to go back and see it again a week later
Birdman, Blue Ruin, Nightcrawler, and Gone Girl get honorable mentions

Worst was Tusk, probably one of the worst movies I've seen in general too

Big Hero 6 was much better than it had any right to be, as was Captain America: Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy.

I really liked American Sniper. Disappointed that didn't win that much at the oscars (only good movie I saw out of the nominations)

Amazing Spider-Man 2 is at the bottom. I was dragged into this movie and was severely underwhelmed. Very boring.

Left Behind is simultaneously the best and worst movie of 2014.

It fails spectacularly at everything: acting, special effects, writing, just fucking everything. It's Con Air featuring a Jesus death cult, the most laid back Apocalypse ever (at one point an extra is supposed to be "panicking" but checks her Twitter instead), and Nick Cage doing the best Nick Cage since Wicker Man. We were sitting in the theater watching the credit scroll and my friend turns to me and says, "I can't decide if Nick Cage should never do another movie or be in every movie." We decided on the latter.

Even the fundamentalist Christians who saw the movie non-ironically were laughing with us as the film dragged on. I need there to be sequels. Hell, the Kirk Cameron film got two of them. Nicholas Cage deserves more than Kirk Cameron ever did.

I was kinda disappointed in Big Hero 6. All the best bits were in the trailers.

But the Lego movie was damn fine, unexpected good really.

I loved Despicable Me 2

Birdman was by far the best movie of 2014 lmao. The cast was spot-on, the writing was just as choppy as the unnerving percussion throughout and I'm gonna be pissed for ten years that Keaton lost the Oscar to a clearly oscar-baited film (lol Theory of Everything was boooororororoing)

Worst movie was probably Kick-Ass 2 or Amazing Spider-Man 2? In terms of films I saw and was actively disappointed by ): marvel needs to stop shitting out movies ffs I can't keep up and don't give a shit about 99% of the characters

Best: LEGO Movie, by far, I am 23 and fiddle around with Lego Digital Designer -- don't judge me, JERKS!!! (Hint: I love you all)
Worst: The Amazing Spiderman. I watched this months after it left the box office and wondered why I had the qualms I had with Spiderman 1-2 of yesteryear...
