'Black Panther' loses its 100% Rotten Tomatoes score - Irish Independent's Ed Power scores it 3/5, "rotten".

When a critic submits their review to Rotten Tomatoes they have the option of choosing whether their given score is "fresh" or "rotten", the number or letter score they gave the movie does not algorithmically determine that automatically.
3/5 is the middle of the range and as a result whether or not something is fresh or rotten is completely subjective based upon the critic. I posted a screenshot of some virtue signalers a few pages ago who gave the movie even lower scores than a 3/5 (such as a 2/5 or a C+) who still elected to rate the movie "fresh" when they submitted their reviews, even though that rating directly contradicts the score they gave the film.
So, am I to understand that the wokest movie of all time is actually about
making sure that black people outside of Africa don't get magical weapons to throw off their oppression shackles, while, instead, the Actual Kangs, who hoard all the good stuff for themselves, side with a guy from the CIA in between bouts of ritual combat for the throne?
Pretty much. The “smarter” you are in the marvel universe, the bigger the selfish, hoarding asshole you are.
Also, fuck Black Panther.
Just give us the same kind of movie, but with Dr. Doom/Latveria instead of Black Panther/Wakanda.
And make Reed Richards the villain, because he really is one,

Also clearly geared towards its target audiences. Luther was an amazing police procedural pushed hard by an actor who wants to get rid of race-specific roles for actors. Black Panther is the big budget popcorner for the masses to enjoy.
That makes sense. Midnight Reviews often rate the films they see as "fine" or "okay" but when it comes to "Would you recommend seeing it in theatres, or even a Netflix rental?" they usually point to "no, unless this sounds like your kind of film or you're bored." It's a lukewarm, middle-of-the-road recommendation with a YIELD sign attached to it.
And those kids' names? Albert Einstein.
I'm just picturing kids marching into their classrooms with guns on their backs and no one batting an eye.

Saw the movie over the weekend. It was good but saw it with my Tumblrina friend who acted super cringy throughout it. Saying “Yasssssss” every time something cool or badass happened, asking me if I was ready to see some “black magic” and at one point when where there was a scene that took place in London, claimed that she didn’t come to see any white people.
She’s not even black.
I have no idea why she got all autistic over the movie. She didn’t get like this over Wonder Woman even though it would make more sense because she’s female (then again, she’s a genderspecial) or Coco because she’s of Mexican descent. And it’s not like she’s been super woke when it comes to race too, considering she’s more into LGBT matters and has made cringy comments about black people in the past. I just don’t get it.

Funny, isn't it? It's almost like it isn't actually indicative of what movies are culturally significant and is just a dick waving contest.
Let them have this "victory", because this is the only "best movies ever" list that Black Panther is ever going to top.

Just got back from it. It was a fun, enjoyable popcorn flick, what you'd expect from a Marvel movie. Living in a far-off land has it's advantages, like not really being affected by the "woke" or "this movie is a political movement" spergery.

I'd call it second tier - better than the first two Thor flicks or iron man 2, on par with the winter soldier and iron man 3, but not as good as good as the first iron man or gotg.
