Ant-man is my second favourite MCU movie. Some days my first. The size-change battles are visual humour and the plot is somewhat interesting. The guy playing the lead is also likeable. It's still MCU but it's better than most of the movies. I like the more low-key stakes.

EDIT: Also, I just want my Bruce Campbell cameo in the MCU. I wonder which character he would be best suited to play...

They're making it so obvious that OT Fagbenle is Taskmaster that I'm almost wondering if Marvel actually grew a brain and they're doing it on purpose as a misdirect. Has he even been in the trailers as himself? If he's important enough to be on posters, why hasn't he had a bigger part in the trailers?

The thing with the door was pretty cool, but I am so not looking forward to listening to shitty Russian accents for like two hours.

Why do Yelena and Melina even have accents? They're spies like Natasha, whenever Nat's lack of accent comes up people always say "She's a spy, it's easier to blend in without an accent" so wouldn't the same logic apply to them?

I hope in future films Yelena's accent disappears like Wanda's did.

No. The decent decision would have been to put this movie out between Infinity War and End Game when people still gave a shit. It would have created important backstory to a character that would ultimately have to Martyr herself for one of the infinity stones. Instead we got Captain Mary Sue.

Just goes to show Hollywood does not give a shit about female led action movies. They only care about movies that push the right agenda. Case in point, all of hollywood had collective Amnesia about the Aliens and Resident Evil Franchises when it came to bitching about "lack of women" in science fiction. Alternate point, they also don't give a shit about black people either unless they serve the propaganda purpose. Wesley Snipes and Avery Brookes got conveniently memory holed to make way for Black Panther and Star Trek Discovery respectively.

If it is, then whenever I decide to re-watch the Infinity Saga somewhere down the road, I will place this movie in there to go right after Civil War.

This should have been the first female-led Marvel movie, not Captain Marvel. And while I didn't mind Nat sacrificing herself in Endgame, I felt that the death scene in itself was far too much like Gamora's and not her own (couldn't even give Nat her own death music lol) ... And I found it insulting that the end of the movie did this huge "girl power" pandering moment without the OG female Avenger being there.

Black Widow deserves more. If this movie sucks, I'm not going to be happy, and it's probably going to prompt me to clock out of my investment with the MCU. She's a great character who, I feel, for some reason, the MCU hasn't quite respected.

Its just really weird to me that they would off her like that. Gotta be some timey wimey bullshit happening. Or at least clones. I don't think she's done with Marvel to be honest.
Obviously Florence Pugh gets the baton but still.
