Blizzard Bans People who Shit talk the Chinese Government -

Ok so the long and the short of it is that this hearthstone player Blitzchung basically threw his support behind Hong Kong in an interview. Mind you what he said was rather tame, there's about 1 gorillion DOLAN DRUMF social media posts by actual Blizzard Activision employees that are probably way worse.

Anyways if you support the people of Hong Kong you've violated this rule

Engaging in any act that, in Blizzard’s sole discretion, brings you into public disrepute, offends a portion or group of the public, or otherwise damages Blizzard image will result in removal from Grandmasters and reduction of the player’s prize total to $0 USD, in addition to other remedies which may be provided for under the Handbook and Blizzard’s Website Terms.
My understanding that Bliztchung wasn't just removed and banned but they got rid of the announcers and a few other people as well for allowing it to happen.

But yeah Blizzard will flaunt it's super progressive YAAASS KWEEN bullshit in the west, but dare you speak ill of Honorable Chairman Pooh and his methods, you're shit canned.

Neo-Liberal Corporations need their shit pushed in.

Promoting fake news should get you banned! The Tienanmen square has been debunked by the experts multiple times as a conspiracy theory. We all know that China doesn't have Muslims on concentration camps, those are called universities and China is just giving them a free education. China doesn't have a pollution problem as the per capita numbers are still low. The president of China doesn't look like Winnie the pooh, this has been debunked too by the neutral fact checkers.

The chinese company conglomerate tencent holds just 5% of Blizzard stock but that's obviously enought to have influence at Blizzard.
I'm not even surprised by that Blizzard ban of this player, they made their bed now they have to sleep in it.
That or Blizzard is just another tencent Figure head. Both ways work.
Tencent probably doesn't wield that influence on blizzard, but Blizzard has always had a tenuous relationship with their asian markets, as everything they make can be copied/stolen the moment blizzard doesn't play ball with either chinese or korean authorities.

Starcraft 2 itself was a play for blizzard to better control the starcraft market in Korea. And Korean esports businessmen said: fuck it, we'll just play starcraft 1 rather than let you get control.

How much money do Blizzard make in China through their various products?

Probably enough that they're afraid to be banned from China. Again.
In China Blizzard operates together with NetEase, if that cooperation is stopped by the Chinese Government Blizzard would literally lose billions of dollars and the chinese market as a whole.

The big interest for Blizzard in China is the mobile gaming market, a market who literally does double digit billion dollar revenue numbers.
The mobile games market in China right now, like it or not, is like the California Gold Rush and Blizzard wants a huge slice of the cake.

That's the fucking weakness of the American capitalist principle that by voting with your wallet you create a positive symbiosis between a business and the people; The Chinese market has a much bigger wallet, and the corporations will bend over backwards for them while giving their fatherland the finger. There's jack shit you can do about this because you're worth less than the Chinese customer.

That rule is so vague it could be applied to anyone for any reason. That's nuts.
That's exactly the point of that rule, you can ban every fucking body for every fucking thing.
Being Pro Hong Kong? Ban
Communism is bad? Ban
Be Pro Life? Ban
Oh, you're NRA? Ban
You looke wrong at this oppressed minority cow? Ban
Sorry conservatives don't need to apply! Ban

See where that ends?

I love china. They have th ebest cities and the cleanest streets. Please do not send any military to my location as the chinese are very hospitable. Thankyou and goodbye fellow citizens.
