"Capitalist" is a snarl word describing the natural emergent behavior of humans in groups in response to scarce resources that has entered the common parlance due to the dominance of leftists in academia. Of course China is technically "capitalist". So was the USSR. Abandoning "capitalism" entirely is impossible, and in fact, very undesirable, so long as human beings remain human and resources remain scarce. At its core it's just a distributed way of processing data. It's literally the only way we have to actually even attempt to figure out production and distribution.

What matters is that China is far less free than western states.

Bunch of faggots only standing by Hong Kong because a video game, lmao

LikeI get it, but this does remind me of that dork who only understood the horrors of the holocaust due to a cartoon fucking pony.
I mean you're not wrong, but you gotta remember the single biggest difference between users of this site and the people it makes fun of is a degree of self awareness. The autism was coming from inside the house.

Mark Kern tweeted a lot about playing WoW Classic with his family, he helped fucking make WoW and personally delivered the petitions to re-launch WoW classic, and now he's boycotting it. Christ.
He also said "Gamers, rise up" completely without irony. I love this sperg.

How is China TECHNICALLY Capitalist?

Based on their laws they arent Capitalist outside of Consumer level transactions and small firm transactions

Capitalism has little to do with freedom. It simply refers to private ownership and the use of the profit motive to guide the distribution of goods.
That has everything to do with freedom. You don't necessarily have freedom with it, but you absolutely can't without it.

At some level their goods are distributed based on a price system arrived at by a consensus value of the products based on demand and scarcity. Likely a very warped and distorted one, particularly for politically sensitive items. But it is impossible to completely eradicate private ownership and enterprise without just destroying civilization. Even states that endeavor to do that will see it survive in black markets, and the people that make a lot of money in those will tend to amass influence over the government. Or be people that already had influence and so were allowed to enrich themselves by taking hold of the release valve for the needs of civilization.

By commie standards they're capitalist because some people can still get rich. By reality's standards they're "capitalist" because capitalism as an ideology in and of itself is largely an invention of Marx that even the defenders of human nature have accepted. Any place inhabited by humans is "capitalist" if it's larger than a small hunter-gatherer family. Either that or it's a place where everyone is dead or dying.

Keep politics OUT of Hearthstone!
I actually would rather that be kept out of the kind of games where they obviously don't belong, so the man in question should have been asked not to do that in the future, but the response is entirely out of proportion to what happened and it's clearly because of Blizzard bowing to their Chinese overlords.

The irony of capitalism being socialism's greatest tool.
It's the same irony as fleas benefiting from mammals.

And that's also how China operates. Their "prosperity" arises from attaching themselves like leeches to the American economy via investment through puppet companies, turning every dime of profit over into subsidizing businesses in whatever industry they want to control, and then dumping at below-cost prices into that industry until all competition withers and dies. We've lost a lot of domestic manufacturing capacity this way.

Meanwhile, they can extend their power over humanity by these corporate policies that align with CCP policies, denying you services or a job or a platform for any reason.

And to those who think this is just a silly gaming thing: This is the future for everyone, if this is allowed to continue. Take the warning and realize that Blitzchung is each of us, tomorrow. Act accordingly. Stop supporting companies that embrace China's offers. Buy local, buy domestic. And ffs, support politicians who want to cut off China's mouthparts before they bury themselves any deeper in our veins.

I can't wait until the CCP blames Gamergate.
Gamergate is a bunch of feckless impotent virgins in their mothers' basements and we should also laugh at them, but simultaneously they are an organized league of domestic terrorists who are oppressing poor marginalized transwomen like Xi Yinping. Anyone who asks how both can be true will lose 1,000 social credit points and have their bank accounts frozen for 30 days.

Thats a big no ghost rider

Things of political priority are decided. And if things become scarce that arent of political priority then they are decided for the people.

And Large to medium capital owners already do own property as De-facto state agents. And people are accustomed to military and police forces reking small property owners in china.

If I hadn't already been totally disappointed in Blizzard for the last several years I'd give up on them now. I've pretty much owned every game they've put out going back to when they were Silicon & Synapse, and multiples of some back in the days when CD-ROM drives were spinning too fast and shattering discs. Kind of pathetic what they've become.

Kern was the last decent dude left by the time he rage quit the company. With the years I've spent playing Blizzard games, many with his name on them, it hit close to home seeing him delete his battle.net account.

I think we may be talking past each other here because I don't disagree with anything you said here about how China conducts itself, just your conclusion.

Little late with this, but the Overwatch community is protesting Blizzard's censorship by using Overwatch's Mei as a meme for support of Hong Kong. Some of them are quite good:

Considering how pro-censorship China is, I suspect Mei would now be banned like Winnie the Pooh. Either wiped from the Chinese version, or worse case scenario, the whole game banned from China.

Blizzard are such massive fuck-ups that they managed to get a bunch of disinterested and ignorant millennials to care about international politics and the human rights violations of a socialist/communist state.

I see this as a win-win. People are shitting on the PRC and Blizzard, two of my least favorite conglomerates of roach-people on the planet.
They also managed to catch criticism from a few senators including Marco Lubio and some democratic senator from Oregon.

The fundemental issue though is China demonstrating a functional capitalist economy (even at a mixed level) and I dont think it ever has. They are just good at tricking people

It functions in the short term depending on what you actually want optimized. Long term not looking so good as I hear.

Bill Clinton did a lot of terrible shit but letting China into the WTO, in particular, will go down as one of the worst decisions ever made by an American president.
Although Truman deserves some of the blame as well for leaving Chiang Kai-shek out to dry...and for not letting MacArthur nuke the fuckers as well.

Anyone's guess on on how long it'll take Blizzard to pinch out a limp wristed apology full of we hear what you're saying's and we understand and will strive to be better' s?

I hope they sit on their hands longer than it took for them to respond to the Diablo fiasco. Seeing them be the butt of everyone's joke again is fantastic!

Remember how the Charlie Hebdo attack inspired "everybody draw Mohammed" day? It really sounds to me like Chairman Xi wants a "winnie the pooh" day across the world, anyone else get that feeling?
No that was inspired by the censorship South Park faced with episodes 200 and 201.
Charlie Hebdo was 4-5 years later.
The woman who started EDH (Molly Norris) eventually got the attention of the Taliban and was actually on their most wanted for doing that, to the point where she had to be put in Witness Protection for it. She's still wanted and under WP.

(Btw, I recommend torrenting the uncensored version of 201, it's easily the series peak; thanks anon from /b/ that leaked it)
