Blizzard Supposedly Forbidding “White Power Symbol” Hand Sign - It's not OK

A fan who managed to get his hand in front of the cameras in the OverwatchLeague arena was apparently approached by event staff after he made a hand sign considered to be a “white power symbol”, informing him that symbols of white privilege are not allowed in their diverse zone.

A tweet from a friend of the culprit who made the life-threatening hand sign (with the complaints of it being a white power symbol naturally being completely unfounded):

The one responsible was apparently not aware of the deep, war-torn history behind the symbol and apologized for his sick deed:

It was also joked that Zenyatta (a character in Overwatch) may soon be banned from the game:

Since there seems to be no official word from Blizzard, there is the potential that the story is fabricated, though considering the previous actions of Blizzard’s Overwatch team (such as banning the usage of Pepe the Frog and punishing players for being exclusive), such an event is hardly outside the realm of possibility…

Once upon a time, I was chomping at the bit for Overwatch to come out so I can finally get off of tf2. After the honeymoon period wore off and seeing Blizzard pull this shit as well as tf2 still getting sporadic updates that don't fuck the whole game up like OW's updates, I've never been happier to go back to my combat-based hat simulator.

the game has been modified where players must consent to take damage and all players must consent to lose, therefore the match goes on for hours and hours. most of the team members are just sitting on their phones texting, some are posting nude photos of themselves to the neo east coast united states social media platform(TM), a government owned conglomerate of twitter, facebook, and instagram.
