Sonichu Bob died in Sonichu -

I've always been a bit unnerved by the fact that Chris portrayed Bob as dead in the Sonichu comics. He made them at a time when Bob was in better health, and as Sonichu is pure wish-fulfillment for Chris, it's upsetting that his "ideal" Bob is already deceased.

Contrast this with Barb, who he sees as healthy and young, and who accepts Chris in the role of "man of the house". In his fantasies, Chris can sire yellow cartoons, save his mom from power ranger villains, and even rape his future wife. But Bob? Can't do anything for him.

Anyone have more insight into this? I just see it as a very morbid component of Chris's mind.

I don't remember Bob showing up at all except for contributing the Obama joke. What issue was this in?

I recall that he left CWCville to Chris after apparently founding it. However, I always assumed that Bob had been acting as a sort of regent until Chris turned eighteen and graduated high school, which is when he said he became mayor. Then, since CWCville is Chris' happy place--and Bob would often irritate him--Bob never appeared in the comics.

It is suspicious that he never gave Bob "father of the year."...
But then again, his mother only shows up once in the year 2000, so idk..
Bob and Chris fought a lot, I don;t think Chris really appreciated him much while he was alive I think

Bob never officially died in the comics (though he's pretty much entirely absent, in contrast to his mother's one appearance). Bob founded the town in 1982, Chris's year of birth and presumably named for his unborn/newborn son. On the CWCpedia bio page for PVCC, Chris mentions that he took office in July 2000 after he graduated from high school. This implied the trigger was him graduating, not Bob dying. I guess it's kind of implied that Bob built this big playground town for his obviously amazing son, then once he had basic education moved back to Regular Town and let him run hog wild in office.

It's really weird that his parents never show up in the comic with the exception of Barb in the only-sorta-canon "Classic Strip". I mean, they don't even show up to Chris's wedding. They're not part of his fantasy world. Possibly because he knows they disapprove of it?

However, Bob is never referred to as a previous mayor anywhere in the canon. Did he have another title? Was he really just ruling as his son's proxy? Why? Did Bob know about the Anchuent Cherokee Prophecy when he founded CWCville?

I hate that I know this; I once did up a pretty comprehensive document trying to piece together CWCville's history for a fic I never did. So I know way too much about Sonichu lore now.

Be honest with yourself for a second, channel your inner child... would you put such trifling things as parents in your fantasy world? It's about that simple, I think. ;)
(Or I was a child who didn't like my parents enough to put them in mine?)

You might be more unnerved when you realize he made "Dead Bob" in Lego.

Chris wanted to give a nod to Bob but he failed to think exactly what it meant. I really think Chris didn't understand how much he loved Bob until the passing. Bob was the only parent who seemed to challenge Chris on his behavior to some degree (at least in his teens and early 20's) so I think Chris viewed him more as the strict parent of the household and thus got less obvious signs of gratitude than Barb. Now that Bob is gone I think he actually views him more as a father figure than ever before. Hell, he made a lego scene where Lego Chris is leaning on his car, looking sad, and Angel Bob seems to be giving him advice.

So yeah, Chris experienced one of those events in life where you have no idea how much you value someone until they're no longer there. Meanwhile the parent openly adored the most due to years of smothering is now getting on his nerves.

You were a child with real friends. Or at least a child who could come up with at least one original character.
