I've watched a lot of Boogie's content over the years, and I feel quite a lot of sympathy for him. He very obviously has serious mental issues that make it difficult for him to lose weight, and he tends to be a very upbeat, helpful, friendly guy in his normal persona. He can be intelligent, witty and occasionally quite insightful. But he's also stuck in a really stupid, self-destructive cycle of simultaneously hating his weight and yet using his obesity as a source of income. Ironically, it isn't in his best interests to lose weight, as it'd instantly remove the unique qualities of his YouTube channel. He'd be a good professional critic like Totalbiscuit, but then he'd have to deal with the fact that, well... we already have Totalbiscuit.

All in all, I'd really, really like to see him get better. There is a talented and funny person trapped under all those layers of blubber, but they stifle him in more ways than one. His childhood trauma does present him with a significant obstacle to moving forwards, but he has also fallen into the trap of using it as a shield and a justification to languish in his own misery. It's a cautionary tale, and proof that you don't need to be an unlikable asshole in order to still be stuck in a very dark, dangerous pit of your own making. I hope he gets the help that he really needs, but it'll take a lot of effort and require the presence of people that can put up with the inevitable meltdown he'll undergo when forced to abandon his coping mechanism and truly face reality head on. It won't be pretty.

If there is one thing that he does better than make excuses, it's emotionally manipulate people. He's a disingenuous person. He's a manipulative user with an air-tight sob story. And he's so good at it, he continues to have an army willing to fight his battles against reality and tough love for him. His weight isn't the prime (non)mover in his life. It's mental illness. Not that food-addiction bullshit, but the pathological need to be coddled. His fatness is a symptom of taking no responsibility and having no accountability. He chose and continues to choose this lifestyle. He literally loves the attention more than he loves life. Don't fall for it. He's just a user.

Realistically the trick with weight loss isn't "what can I do to lose weight drastically" it's "what can I do everyday that I can make a normal routine and not change in 5 months"

This is why diets piss me off, you should go in with a mindset that you are okay with eating what you're going to be eating forever, not "man I can't wait to stop eating this shit"

I do not believe people would give one shit about his weight loss journey only a select few asspatters would. Everyone else goes there to see him acting triggered and being fat. People like Amy Slaton and Amberlynn Reid are being viewed because they are fat train-wrecks who have less than average intelligence.. That's it. That's the thing though, isn't it? No one wants to call him out for it or even say it, especially his fanbase, but that's literally what he does. Each and every one of his videos on his weight is, at its core, a sob story garnered to gain sympathy, likes and asspats. Yet at the end of the day, his life is no harder or sadder than anyone elses. If its even possible to measure sadness and suffering, I know people who have suffered to the same degree or even more than him, yet they don't use it as a crutch. When you've come from nothing and been through horrible shit there's nowhere to go but up yet Boogie seems to love staying in his horrible shit and paints it as him "trying."

As you've pointed out, he's not even a good person, either. He just lies and manipulates and gives excuses for everything and every failure. His fans and even the people who watch his videos have bought into his "nice guy" bullshit so hard, even in this thread just a couple pages back people are like "yeah he's not an lolcow he's just fat and he's trying" but he's really, really not. Comments like that just further perpetuate his persona and enable him. I realize that comedy is subjective, so when I say he's not funny I'm sure some people will disagree, but what has he said or done that's been deemed funny that's not been related to his weight? Absolutely nothing. And even that is only marginally funny because iirc Francis came about when all those "Freakout" videos were popular. What does he have to offer in terms of content that other channels don't already do - and better as well? Again, nothing. I honestly don't think he could lose weight even if he wanted to. Just going on his channel, one of the first videos - him jumping on a topic to rack in the views and what do you know? He goes on about his abuse too. And this is my recommended.

It's no secret you can capitalize off anything on youtube, but Boogie has made his living capitalizing off of his grief and pretends he's a gaming channel and somehow people really buy into it. In every single video he makes like this he gets nothing but support which just further enables him. It's literally like sitting there telling someone "No you're not fat it's okay it's your moms fault you're like this" while they gorge themselves on 2 large pizzas. Iirc, he's even made a video addressing the "hate" comments (which I'm pretty sure was actually just a very long comment from a person explaining how he should be losing weight and what he can do for physical activity because he always says he can't do anything) and again he does nothing but give excuses and sob stories in that video as well. I don't think I've ever seen someone use their past experiences in such a way as Boogie and, just like you said, completely and utterly fetishize it.

Boogie is pretty obnoxious when you look at it objectively. He constantly complains about his health and adopts the victim mentality in order to garner viewership, yet he doesn't cut out the simple things (like Mountain Dew) to improve his health. Boogie jumps onto every drama bandwagon that rolls through YouTube while simultaneously remaining neutral to the subject, not because he is trying to be objective, but because he "doesn't want to influence anybody". He's certainly not trying to avoid alienating any groups of people for the sake of maximizing his audience. He constantly tosses out the abuse card, his mental health, and the difficulties of weight loss to shift blame off of himself while demonizing anybody who would "fat shame" him. It's a pity that his viewers enable him and I feel like a big part of the problem is PC culture. If you call him out on any of his bullshit a pack of rabid SJWs will come and nail you to a cross for not "being more understanding of his struggle".
