If I'm looking to go from zero to drunk Costco Generic American Vodka is my pick.

I like lots of different cheap shitty beers, High Life and Icehouse bottles, PBR tallboys, Corona Extra Familiar. I'm holding off on trying Costco Generic Light Beer until I'm doing some party or something that I can foist 47 cans of beer I don't like on other people if I don't like it.

I'm rather fond of vodka and gin. And triple-sec. You can add that shit to anything. The Drunk/High thread is peppered with my obscure drink creations.

You need a good gin if you're going to drink gin. We have something local now, and it's crazy herbal. Not for everyone.

Straight. Any booze should be straight. Pouring soda on top of it ruins that delicious booze flavor.

Also gin tastes like fucking pine trees. It's an acquired taste, I guess. But I'd still rather guzzle whiskey and vodka than waste time trying to acquire a taste for pine trees.
(But if gin is all you have available, I'll totally drink all your gin)

Beer-wise, I'm a big fan of Weißbeir, or wheat beer/white beer. The good kind has a lovely banana-like taste. I'd recommend either Paulaner or Schneiderweiße. The only down-side is that it's heavy, and it's easy to get a hangover with.

I'm personally very partial to Sobieski, and you can usually get it for pretty cheap too. I know you hate gin, but Bombay Sapphire is another personal favorite. It hits hard but goes down pretty smooth as far as gin goes. Jose Cuervo has made for many a memorable night, especially if you take it with limes and salt.

Of course the real answer is all of it.

Irish red ales are top of my list. Maybe a whiskey or two, like Johnny Walker Black Label, Chivas Regal, or Midleton Very Rare. Depends on how skint I want to be the next morning. A rum and Diet Coke if I'm slumming it. Diet Coke ordinary tastes like shit, but it's actually okay with enough rum.
